I'm still a novice with this industry. Turns out with a KFL at 1.1 ohm that I painstakingly built and screw on my Sigalai 30W I will never vape at less than 15w on a fresh battery. No wondow I get so many burnt flavors.

Which tube mods can down regulate? Is it the same crape with the Provaris I spent $300 on?

VV/VW APV's have wattage limits. Since you are talking about devices like a Provari they can't run much below 1.3 ohms with their max 15 watt output. Same with an eVic that has an even lower 12 watt limit. (But the new eVic Supreme is a 30 watt APV .) If you are going to run coils below 1.3 ohms and want VV/VW you need an APV that has a higher watt limit, just so you aren't constantly riding on the edge of the protection circuit kicking in and either shutting down the device or automatically rolling back the wattage. A 15 watt APV is going to be an annoyance with a 1.1 ohm build.

I'm talking about 30watt devices that can't regulate 2 ohm coils, I'll just leave it at that and not name names.

Your posts are confusing since you're asking at first for tube mods (like the Provari) that have step down circuits. You're also talking about high wattage mods, and about burnt taste on a Kayfun Lite.

First off, Provari's have step down circuitry. What you set it to, you get, unless at higher voltages with low ohm atomizers, then you'll get a warning. But the Provari WILL fire a low ohm build at low volts. There are a couple of things you need to keep in mind. It won't fire higher than 15 watts (not even a little over), and it has a 3.5 amp limit, so you're not going to be doing low sub-ohm builds on a Provari. It won't even fire, you'll just get errors.

Secondly, you aren't likely to find a 30+ watt device with step down. Kind of defeats the purpose of a 30+ watt device. If you're going to run an atomizer at 8 watts, why spend the money on a 30 watt device? If you want to fire at a lower wattage, you need to build a higher resistance coil so that the lowest voltage your device can deliver isn't going to create a high wattage situation.

And finally, if you're getting a burnt taste from a KFL at 15 watts, you're doing something wrong. What size wire are you using? What kind of wick? Are you sure you're not blocking the juice wells? How did you check the ohms of the coil? Did you fire the coil first to remove hotspots? Is it a high VG juice?

My dual 18490 EPM is VW, regulating from .6 to 34 watts. They're only available from Australia, but are stainless steel, with an adjustable pin, and those who've tried them pretty much swear by them. He just put his remaining stock up at a 27% discount, and you can find a couple of reviews here on ECF.

I've got two of them (one dual 18650 and one dual 18490), and there's NOTHING I'd trade for them. The only downside is that you can't be color blind, due to the way it operates.
