Can anyone help me here I trying to deside weither or not to buy a used v1 or just bite the bullet and buy a new v2. But I really dont understand the differences between the two. What are the pluses or miniuses. I also thought that I read something somewhere that a v1 could be upgraded to a v2 for like $20.00. If anyone had any other reasons that one version is better then the other I would love to hear from you.

The V1 has a 2.5 amp chip in it while the V2 has a 3.5 amp chip. Really not all that important unless you wanna run a LR carto or atty at a higher voltage. Another MINOR change is that the menu list is in a different order from what I had seen with the V1.

Overall, the V2 is better since it has updated technology that has been incorporated into it.

So, just to tack on another silly question.. :)

How do I know which one I have? I ordered mine in January (2012).

If you can adjust your voltage down to 2.9v it's the V2, if it goes down to 3.3v it's the V1 but I'm sure you have a V1 as I don't think the V2 was available in Jan but I could be wrong on my dates.
