Long story short:

* Thumbs up to Mistic for being a great, accessible entry-level replacement to analogs. I'm really glad I found them at my local Wal Mart the same day I was going to break down and buy a pack of analogs.
* Thumbs down to V2 for their crappy overpriced product, and to their disgusting cigarette flavors.

Long story long:

So I started on Mistic I got from WalMart. Worked great. Lots of vapor, smooth draw, and I felt as if I was smoking a real cigarette. But with only one flavor and being a non-standard size, I wanted to get 'real' kit. My only real complaint about the Mistic was that the one tobacco flavor seemed to be modeled after a Marlboro Red, and I smoked Camel Lights. But to its credit, it DOES taste like smoking a Marlboro Red, and the fact that my main complaint didn't have anything to do with it not tasting like a cigarette, but tasting like a different brand than my favorite, says a lot about it I think. After getting accustomed to smoking full-flavor Marlbs again, I was happily vaping instead of smoking, which was my first goal. Job Done.

Next, of course, started my quest for the best. So I ordered the V2 kit (before I knew about this site) because according to Google it's the best e-cigarette in the universe. Picked 2 flavors: Sahara and Red. My expectation was they would nail my beloved Camel flavor, but just in case, I was sure their Red would taste even better than the Mistic. Nowhere go to but up, right? WRONG...

My impressions? Horrible vaping, and disgusting flavors. Really glad I didn't try this kit first because I would have gone back to my analogs.

1) First of all, regardless of what flavors they have, there are 4 holes around the cartridge that don't let you do anything but inhale gross-flavored air and compared to the Mistic, not much vapor. The Mistic feels more like you are taking a drag from a cigarette. The V2 feels like you are hitting a pipe with a carb, but not covering the carb. Not to mention the silly whistling and popping you hear from the V2.

2) Secondly, both the V2 Red and Sahara flavors are DISGUSTING to the point I can't even bear to smell them, let alone vape them. They literally stink just sitting there. I feel sorry for anyone getting their first impression from this kit. By the time I had the kit in the mail, I already had my new Johnson Creek e-juice (thanks to this site), and had refilled one of my Mistic cartridges with the Tennessee Cured (TC) flavor (OMG it's awesome!!!!). Anyway, I wanted to wash out the juice from the V2 cartridges so I could fill them with my new juice and hopefully salvage my purchase. Boiled them for 5 minutes as per the internet and let them dry. No dice. They stank even worse for some reason. Tried to give a washed Sahara cartridge a chance by filling it w/ the TC which I knew to be pure perfection, but in that cartridge it tasted horrible (conversely, the Mistic tobacco flavor was actually neutral with the TC juice, or possibly added to it). I figured it was just because they needed more boiling because they were full the first time, so I boiled them for another 5 minutes and let them dry. The smell lingered just as strong as the first boil, and still fouled the TC. I ended up throwing all 10 of them away. What a waste :(

Luckily my Mistic kit is still going strong while I wait for all my hand-chosen items from vapor4life. Now that I did some research, here is version 3 of my starter kit. It's a lot of money, but now I KNOW it's money well spent. Maybe someday I'll go with an advanced kit, but for now the KR808's are a perfect replacement for my cigarette habit. As soon as I start to pick up either habits or limitations of the KR808's exclusive to vaping, I'll look into more advanced stuff.

PS I just got my new juices from Pink Spot. I don't know how they taste, but on the invoice was a nice lengthy hand-written appreciation note on the bottom, complete with smiley face. If they put that much care into their invoice, I can only imagine how their hand-crafted juices taste. I'm SO ANXIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can fill up your new empty cartomizers with juice. Just make sure to wipe the bottom of the battery off so you don't get juice in your battery. I try to wipe off my charger occasionally with some iso alcohol.

Next time V4L has a good sale (and they do have good sales so sign up for their newsletter) pick up a manual battery to try. You don't have to be as careful with manual batteries because they are sealed.

When you get your new cartomizers get a binder clip or unbend a paper clip and take the rubber end cap off. There are many ways to fill a cartomizer, but this is how I do it.

Tilt the cartomizer at an angle, and drip about 20, 25 drops of juice in avoiding the center channel. You could even put a tooth pick gently in the center. I do 10 drops, give it a thermometer shake, 10 more, shake, etc. Until it won't take any more juice. Let it sit for a bit, see if you can add a couple more drops. Put your drip tip on and vape away! When flavor drops off, add a few more drops.

OK cool, that's exactly how I've been doing it. I also put a condom over the battery end (the one with the plunger that goes into the tube) so less comes out initially, then I wipe that end with a Q-tip and blow through to clear anything that might drip back. I thought wv2win meant I shouldn't refill cartos.

I agree completely. I also got suckered by the V2cigs Google bomb Fake Review water army marketing before I found a real forum with real people here. All the prefilled cartos I got from them have been triple washed and used for my own flavors now. But, at least the equipment is standard enough that I can keep using the parts that are OK, and looking at that big V2 logo every day just reminds me of how much money I basically gave them for free from their overcharging, and to be even more critical and careful of the kind of dishonest marketing V2 uses, from now on. now you've found thousands of pages of real information - disagreements and all :) have fun with it!

Edit: I actually have stickers I cover the V2 logos with so I don't accidentally advertise for them for free, yes, I'm still that ...... off at them (and at myself for falling for the dishonest almost-scam they run). I also make notes with this forum address on them for everyone who asks about vaping!

What do you mean? Isn't that why they sell empty cartos? I make sure to clean the battery-side of the cartos with a Q-tip.

Yo new vaporor, it took me 2 weeks to find the right e-cig...Been vaping now about 1 year and 4 months.
Get yourself an Joye-Ego kit, with Low Res cartomizers.
then get yourself some 306 atomizers from empiremods, (they'll throw you a free 306 drip tip too).
The battery life on the 1000 mah ego batteries is like 10 hrs. of hard vaping.
So you can vape with a.) smoke tech dual coil 1.5 ohm cartomizers, so you don't have to drip.
b.) use Low res atomizers (for dripping) because the flavor is better then in a cartomizer in my opinion.
3 drops is like smoking a cigarette...equals about 10 vapor puffs.

Anyway when you move on to a mod mine is the (infinity pro), you can adjust the voltage to make more or less vapor, and get the best taste from your juices cause some taste better at say 4.5 volts then 5 volts...etc.

go to notcigs.com for the mod...or the buzz pro from their.

and Keep on vaping.
p.s
go to youtube and type grimmgreen.....he will help you out alot on anything you want to try and want info on.

take care!

Sorry to hear the bad experience some of you have had with V2. I personally dont find them all that horrible as some of you describe. Honestly the flavors to me are quite satisfying, and I especially like the reds. As far as their "Scam" advertising, thats YOUR fault, due diligence is on you not them, sorry if I offend you but its the truth, just cause you purchased the product and found something better its no reason to bash a company. Thats
like saying I liked McDonalds till I discovered Burger king so McDonalds is a scam???!!!!

Vapor4life, lemme tell you my experience with them. Ordered 2 batteries, they are no where near a V2 battery, so if you think you just found a cheaper product thats better your sadly mistaken, you just found a "CHEAPER" product. Also, the WOW cartridges? I just tossed an entire pack of 5 freshly filled ones in the trash can, yes, they were that bad and I know how to fill a cartridge. V2 cartridges? Ive used the same one over and over till it was completely clogged so your not going to save a buck going with those Cartridges either. WOW juice, nothing to write home about, Ive had better and worse.

That said, Yes, Im going to upgrade, to a 510 thread simply due to the ease of access to pieces parts where as the 808 is far more limited, will I be bashing V2 afterwards....nah, they did their job for me and got me off analogs!!!!

Have to agree with Viper, I love my v2. My batteries go forever, and funny you say sahara is so bad, because its my favorite. I did just get a kgo for times when i just want to take one thing to vape on, but thats not v2's fault, i knew the battery limits when i purchased. as far as the analog look alike v2 is by far the best, and i have tried about all of them. If you think v2's flavors are bad, you should try bluecig, 21'st cent, krave, or white cloud lol and thats who v2 is competing with, not the big batteries and mods.

I agree with the last few comments V2 is a fine product, it got me off of analogs completely and it's been 3 months since my last cigarette. It's a beginners package in my opinion, it's simple and easy to use. My carts have lasted 3 months, I have about 15 carts that I use in shifts. I use about 3-5 at a time then boil them to clean them and set them aside and use the next batch. The v2 juice is okay, I think at first most people who are trying to make the switch are looking for a tobacco flavored juice but with time you may realize that becomes a little less important and you will seek out different types of juice. I never thought I'd like a vanilla or coffee flavored juice but I'm all about it now. I don't really even like my tobacco flavored juices I have purchased from other vendors.
To the op, hang in there and stay positive!
