Just got the V3 along with 4 flat top 18350 batteries. Used a nipple top AW 18650, while the efest IMR 18350's were charging, without any issues. Tried out an 18350 flat top and got nothing. Tried out all 4 new batteries, nothing. Tried pulling out the spring, still getting nothing. Tried stacking 2 18350's and still no sign of life. Tried extra button clicks as well.

Really want to use the V3 in a smaller form factor. Is there a problem with using the new V3 with the flat top batteries? The nipple top 18650 continues to work with no issues, and I am pretty sure that I can't have received 4 new batteries all DOA. Got them from efestbattery.com out of China.

Turns out that the gasket where the battery makes contact is maybe to thick, and the post does not stick up enough. It is also placed way off centre, with one side almost up against the post, which also makes it more difficult for a flat top 18350 to make contact. Can that post be pulled up without harming the V3? Or perhaps the gasket can be removed and properly centred?
The smaller 18350 seems to sit at an angle with the way the gasket is positioned, so there is no way for the flat top to make contact. Any advice?

That gasket is off center on mine too, but I have no issues powering my device with 18350 flat top single or stacked with the long tube. There's really no where for the 18 mm batteries to move around in the short tube that it wouldn't make contact with the positive terminal. The post itself is dead center, just the off center gasket/insulator that makes it look cockeyed.

I'd check the batteries with a multi meter before messing with the center post.

Placed a little magnet on top of the battery to create a button top and it fired right up, so now I know the problem is with it not making contact with that post, and not the batteries. Scared to mess with anything, but obviously the best choice is to try removing the gasket and reapply it so that it is centred correctly.
