I really think a Latest News & Stock Update sticky thread would be helpfull for this forum as well as the website. I personally dont mind searching the threads and digging for this kind of info as I am hooked on your product lol..

But I have been seeing alot of "Where is the juice" threads and questions about mods..

So here is my idea.. A sticky only mods and staff are allowed to post on which gives customers info like ETA's on stock updates ect..

Also, can be used for other info such as the VK1 mod status and other things that are in the works that we can expect in the near future..

anyone else agree?

Here is a thought..... since some other suppliers have them as well... maybe the V4L site can have their own personal F<censor> and this way there will be a place to organize, rather than having stickies there would be sub-F<censor> = NO CLUTTER

with all the stickies here its starting to look like certain peoples' computer desktop with 10 mil shortcut icons.... it sort of defetes the pupose like highlighting an entire page in a textbook.

Just my opinion I don't post here, much But I do try to catch the new thing/deal just-in-case I purchase again......

Duck

Edit: of course leave this place here... so info can still be passed and banter would still be allowed :D

Meh... I don't really see the point.

Searching through tens of pages in one thread just to see if something new has come up, just to find out (like in Sun Vaporer's 5000 post long thread on the court case in the news forum) that "there's been no movement," doesn't really appeal to me.

I think its easier if Mark, Steve or Leaford just create new threads when there is a stock update. That way, you don't have go into a single thread to search for the news, its just there in your face on the front page.

As for LGD, a new forum would not be the solution. Steve and Mark are the mods for this sub-forum, and they are the ones who are in control of what threads get stickied. They could delete all those stickies within 5 minutes if they wanted to. I don't see how it would be any different on a separate forum. It would just divide the members that are currently on this forum, and it is this forum that brings in the new customers.

Not really saying its THE solution... but it would one for ME :D

As for member dividing. hmm? maybe/maybe not..... This one definately brings in the new customers....But a mini forum on there site wouldn't be a bad Idea for updates, deals, etc. This way once you become a regular you have a place to quick ref and such.

Both could work @ the same time... if managed properly.. I mean it seems to work for others

snipped: I totally agree

ADD: it is just my own thought..based on personal selfishness :p... if someone agreed...then cake.... if not .... then off to get more comments posted in the sea of threads :D

I agree there are too many stickies already, they should definitely be condensed or sub-linked. Regarding an additional sticky for V4L stock issues, I disagree. I think V4L should have this information on their website, and make inventory announcements there. Although I really like the fact that unavailable stock is not listed, it is the source of many of the WHERE'S THE JUICE posts and associated complaints. Instead of beating up on all the poor newbs trying to get information on why there is no juice or juice of a particular strength (or other items as well), V4L could do us all a really big favor by saying so on their website. I would also like to take this opportunity to point out that V4L members are not responding to posts regarding juice inventory, which is suspicious in my opinion continuing the redundant post debacle and annoying everyone (they should be commended however for their gracious and prompt response to many other questions and complaints). I know Leaford, Smilin, Dohsma, and Val have all seen these posts, but appear to be purposely avoiding those threads. We are all big V4L fans here, so V4L can be honest with us and up front with the status.

I reiterate, this is a discussion forum not the vendors website; inventory status should be addressed there. One simple statement on their website such as: "If you are unable to find the product your are looking for, it is not in stock at this time. Please check back as our inventory is updated on a regular basis." Another statement or announcement could be made somewhere to the effect: "We apologize for the low stock in our juice products, but are expecting a delivery soon and anticipate inventory to be available by <date>".

As I've posted so many times before, love the product, love the people, love this forum. Let's improve the communication and streamline the hot issues to the mutual benefit of all involved.

i would think some of the "stickies" have a place on the forum, and some have out lived thier useful life. with that being said, a stock update would be helpful as a sticky. just a quick reference for those who want one to see of changes instead of searching through pages of posts for the "latest" . just my opnion

That is why I'm in the pro-News & Updates sticky camp. The reason the current stickies (which I would definitely also prefer to see condensed at least) aren't referenced much for actual help and do not serve that purpose well at all, is because they are not no-reply stickies. For an updates sticky to successfully serve the purpose of allowing ppl to stay current very quickly and efficiently, that sticky would have to be no-reply. Then any discussion desired about the info provided by staff within it could be freely conducted outside it. So, this sticky would not be like any of the others which have taken over and run amok (most or all of which were also just member conversations that got stickied, rather than key info and tips from V4L 'authorities').

First and foremost V4L is a business, and ppl in a hurry or simply not wanting or always wanting to comb through huge amounts of conversation during all attempts to stay abreast of the biz end and gather decision-making info, should be able to do so -- no explanation or defense required.

(Re a news and updates page on V4L's own website instead, or also, that would be fine and even great, yes -- but my guess is that they'd find that more time consuming than doing it here, and time shortage is of course a huge consideration. But if they did do it here only, seems they really should link to it from there. And yes regardless, there should be clear notice on the V4L website of e.g. what it means when products aren't selectable, if there isn't currently. Maybe underneath each selection drop-down or something.)
