Just got a new shorty kit. It has lots of great stuff in it but it doesn't seem to work. I have to suck my brains out to get anything and it's making a lot of air noise. The PS works great though. I really want this to work. It seems that the cart and the batteries are not seating properly. I've tried them both with different carts and it's the same. I put a peice of Scotch tape around the joint and poked one hole in it and it works fine. I shouldn't have to do that though. Can anybody help?

Hi Sal, I got your email through customer_service@vapor4life.com and sent you some suggestions and youtube links. Keep me advised how it's going. If it's still a stubborn mess, we'll see about sending you a new one.

Well, I got the e-mail and tips and have been sucking on this all day trying to make it work because I like it. I'm still sucking a lot of air unless I cover up some of the holes with tape. I don't know if it's just not working right or if that's the way it's supposed to be. If so, I don't want it.:(
I don't know if another one will be the same and I hate to put you through the trouble but I'm willing to try anything to make it work. Help!!

Rocks, I have to pull so hard I get dizzy and it feels like my head is going to explode...LOL...and that produces almost no vapor.

I'm going to cut the bottom off a condom and use it as a silicone tube to close off the connection and see if that helps...Someone mentioned it before in this forum to fix an airy PT.

I too, don't like the "airy-ness" of the shortie but received it as a bonus so never mentioned it...wonder why they aren't made to draw like the reg or XL batts?

Good idea on the condom as silicone sleeve to block airflow, I have an auto PT that is too airy compared to my manual one...

Question: I prefer manuals and do not use automatics, are they known all around to be this airy? How many times can I say airy in one post??!!

My auto PT and XL are definitely not as airy as this Shorty...The cut condom did help. Much more vapor, but I'm still puffing so much that I'm dizzy.

Mine was a freebie as well, I just thought if there was a good fix for the air-iness, it might be great to grab and run out with for quick errands.

In general, I know that shorties aren't going to produce as much vapor as the other sizes no matter what... but pulling until dizzy sounds pretty rough. Mine are airy and a harder pull but not quite that bad! I'm going to look into this further for you guys. Stand by, Ghost Rider (god, i'm such a geek)

Taryn is right...the autos are more airy than the manuals...No doubt...so let me describe my experience...

On my auto XL and PT, I do not need a primer puff. I can take one long, slow drag and get great TH and Vapor. On the Shorty with the condom over the connection, I need 2 primer puffs before I get decent vapor...And actually, with all this experimenting...my diaphragm hurts...LOL...

I have two shorties, both autos. I haven't had any trouble with mine. (Perhaps it's because I prefer a bit of a lighter draw?) I get a nice throat hit and plenty of vapor. I don't have to pull hard at all to get a nice draw! Admittedly, I don't seem to crave as much vapor as some do, but I do come up with enough vapor to satisfy that "feeling." In fact, I have two more of these waiting in my V4L shopping cart! It sounds like there might be a bad batch of shorties out there?

The ones that say "Vapor King" are the old shorties. There are two things that may help:

1. The toothpick trick. It will stay quite well if, after breaking it off, you push it in good & snug with a fingernail or something. I think I was the first to post this trick (at least on this sub-forum). I fixed an "airy" auto PT that way. I have since done the same to both of my 510 -> 808 adapters for my battery mods. I've never had a hint of them coming loose.

2. There are 2 little air holes in the "ash cap", right where it meets the battery tube. Try closing off one of the holes with your finger. If it helps, plug it off somehow.

You can remove the "ash cap" with a pair of pliers (smaller is better). Grip the plastic cap gently with the pliers. Twist & pull and it will come out. You can push it back in with your fingers later... no glue needed.
