At my favorite local bar, owned by a cardiologist and his wife and son (the chef in the next-door gourmet restaurant) there's a no-smoking policy. When they bought the club-restaurant three years ago, it had been a smoking club and restaurant for 30 years. They shut it down for a month. Tore out EVERYTHING, completely refurbished it and opened as a non-smoking place.
Even thought I was a heavy and lifelong smoker at the time, that was fine with me.
Now that I've been with V4L for three months, the doctor (who's in almost every night, and friendly with everybody) has become a big fan of V4L from chatting with me and seeing how much I enjoy vaping and the success I've had (I quit analogs INSTANTLY).
He's recommended V4L to his heart patients who've not been able to quit analogs.
I stealth vape there all the time. Sitting right next to him at the bar. He's fine with that.
A couple of the bartenders (who are smokers) have an understandable problem with my showing "smoke" or vaper. They just don't want people to misunderstand and think it's okay to smoke in the club. They don't have time to run around explaining to everybody that I'm vaping, not smoking.
I'm fine with that and completely understand.
With V4L it's easy to stealth vape. I do it everywhere. Movies, department stores, grocery stores, etc. Easy to cover the LED with your hand, not show any vapor, etc.
I still go outside on the sidewalk to join friends who are smokers. So of course they're getting interested in V4L since they see how successful it's been for me and how much I enjoy it.
I'm happy to let them take puffs. I'm not germophobic in the least (though I understand those who are).
I've had nothing but pleasant experiences vaping in public.
It's all technique. I happen to LOVE a lot of vapor. Inhaling it, blowing it out slowly through my nose -- the whole "smoking" experience.
But in clubs I can easily make vaping pretty much invisible. So why start riots?
Just the other evening, in fact, sitting at the bar with the doctor -- who is an ex-smoker himself (quit 15 years ago) -- he's very impressed with my enjoyment and results.
I told him, "I'm sure I've done some good things for myself in my life, but I can't think of anything BETTER I've ever done than this."
