#3 Its not just a matter of preference when you're talking about viruses. Mac and Linux have a fraction of the known viruses and malware that Microsoft programs do. Yes, the user interface is better and easier to use with Microsoft products. But Mac and Linux is safer over the long haul and requires far less infection management.

You should said it. Microsoft is easier to use, while Mac and Linux are safer. It's a trade off, so were are back to a matter of preference.

I can't find it (so [citation needed]) but there was a study a few years back that took non-computer-users off the street and tried them on OSX and Win7. (OSX won about 25/75.) Colloquially, I've never had to explain to my wife how to do something on my mac.

(ETA: cost is higher on mac, for equivalent hardware. Much higher than some of the loss-leader Windows laptops. Some capabilities are higher too though - been shopping retina laptops this week because I'm losing the one work gave me. Based on using the 15" version, I think I can run a 13" laptop comfortably for the first time ever thanks to the display..)

I am unfamiliar with retina display.

I think we, both wifey and I need a new laptop. our birthdays are in 3-4 months respectively, and ill ask my family to help split the cost of an inexpensive, but not cheap laptop. gives me some time to shop around, although anything i window shop now may be obsolete in that time :)

Taking a half day today, in fact, im off the clock in 6 minutes!
I have a list of 40+ businesses that i will be driving to all over the city to drop fliers off for our June 1st event. 2000 fliers hitting stores today!! 4-5 hours of driving, easily over 100 miles. I bring two sets of car keys with me so that i can leave my car running and locked up while i go into each store. smartz

The retina displays are just high-density high-res displays. (Same as the "retina" iphone/ipad - it is -very- high res but the retina thing is just marketing.) They are gorgeous though, and this is the first laptop I've been able to really hammer on that wasn't 17". I've always looked at 13-14" laptops as great if all you want to do is run calculator :)

SO ready for this week to be over!!! Coach a game, play a game, lead practice, review penalties, coach practice. Oh, and run training for my real life job, too... I like teaching people and all but sometimes a gal just wants to sit and veg.

My contest juice arrived yesterday and I haven't been able to resist sampling it in my drip atty, even though it's only a day or two old and of course should be steeping. I'm really pleased with the sweet raspberry and RY4 so far. Sun Drop is juicy but not quite as strong as I was expecting. There's some fizz in it if I exhale through my nose but it's not super bubbly like some soda vapes I've had. If you know of a good bubbly, fizzy vape, lemme know! Caramel and lemon green tea are also quite tasty but I'm hoping they'll round out more after a steep. All in all a great set of juices to try from a new-to-me vendor.
