4. 5/15 - As a motorcyclist, seat belt tickets blow my mind. I do wear a helmet though (+jacket & boots), not that there is even a law for that here.

@ levisdaddy- My luck with tickets is absurdly good. I won't go into the details, it would just make you even more angry. I'll just say that riding a motorcycle that does wheelies on a whim is not easy to ride "slowly". If I'm going to be late getting somewhere, so be it. The biggest temptation is when I'm stuck in traffic on a 100+ degree day and my shoes feel like their melting off from the exhaust and pavement.

When I was a mail man... YEARS ago... going through the LLV training (LLV being the trucks they drive) the instructor could not stress enough that cops will let mail men get away with just about any driving infraction, with one exception... Schools Zones. 5 mph or 1 mph over... they will tag you.

$245 for 12 over. was going 47 in a 35. i know its my fault... and only i am to blame, the schmuck the officer was kind and polite which i am not used to; i will be driving by again to see the mph signs as i though 40 was posted. but i am probably wrong. as soon as i try and get ahead i lose any extra income i have saved. two weeks ago it was a new tire, again my fault... i think i have exhausted my driving school as they have to be spaced by 2 years or more.
i did get a another ticket a month ago when i was flashed my photo radar going 20 in a 15 school zone. that one i am definitely fighting. 5 over is ridiculous to get ticketed over....

2 tickets in a month? First thing: Slow down!

OK now to deal with your traffic ticket: 35 zones are notorious for being out of compliance with the traffic surveys and engineering reports. Find out what the report says for the road you were on when you were ticketed. If the speed limit is not within 5 mph of the recommendation in the report, you can probably beat your ticket.

EDIT: I should clarify that this works for laser/radar clocking; if Officer Davis paced you, you're probably toast.

5: I am super careful at the school zones. It angers me to see people drive badly or speeding there putting my children at risk, so I do not want to put other people's children at risk at any school.

Enjoy:

Mmmm, it is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. so I could be up at night... you know what insomniacs we old folks are :p I wouldn't be too worried. Each time I am working days I try to apply and interview for something just to be comfortable with it and not stressed. Dropping 2 levels and losing 1/3 of my pay is going to send off too many warning bells, I doubt I'd even get an interview. In addition, IF I DID get one... would I take it? No psycho on nights but perhaps FIVE psychos on DAYS :/ PLUS TRAFFIC :/

Just saying... LOL

Sher - what is the Ghost Buster tree?

It's a takeoff on Ecto Cooler with lots of oomph. I call it Ectoplasm!
