Likely an in store or batch issue.
Think about it. 3 in one location within a short period. Either there was a limited production error that got by, and it happens in manufacturing, or the Store may be selling with incorrect information to limited experience users.
Over sized Button tops can Damage the circuit board from to much pressure.
Over tightening toppers can damage/short the unit.
(some) Vamos cannot be battery stacked - shorts the boards
Running to low ohm coils can trip fault protections and customer assumes bad unit

Lots of reasons, but over all the V5 has a decent reputation. A friend has one. One year Vaper with decent experience in equipment and his is doing fine for him.
I have the original Vamo(literally - first run) almost 16 months old and working great.

Or even the same user. I know from working with the public some people can screw up anything and they can do it quickly. Given the short time it's been open I'd say it's not an item or a batch issue but a person issue.

I haven't had any issues with my V2 or V3, although I researched the issues before I got them so I avoided the common problems.

most likely trying to upsale you my friend. i don't suggest dropping the v5 on the floor as the press fits can come loose. this happened to mine over a month ago. i tapped it back together with a rubber hammer and it still performs like new. ordered a second v5 last night as a backup and they are getting scarce in stainless. i had to settle for gun metal finish but at least ill be able to know which came first. for under sixty bucks they could be considered disposable. nothing else compares with its features or usability for the money. also no thread issues with mine. the only other mod i want is an american zna30 and you have to get in line for that one.
I was chatting with a store owner yesterday and asked him about the Vamo 5. Right away he showed me 3 Vamo 5's that needed to be returned because of different defects. I sure do appreciate his honesty!!

:vapor:Got mine from FT. Works perfect. I really like the power of it with stacked 18350's I say this in almost every thread about the Vamo but it
bangs out the power with that set-up. Gives a really nice vape with a PT2 mini. Excellent TH and vape cloud every time on HM coil and cotton. I will be using this for a long time, especially when out on the road. Got a couple of second glances from the police hitting it in traffic going into the tunnel but they immediately realized what it was and didn't skip a beat.

Idk I think all vendors buy VAMOS from fasttech because they are dirt cheap, China doesn't care about their machining and TRUE build quality. All 3 of my VAMO v3's broke because the center pin broke off of the PV chip board. And both my V5's had the same breakage, and all my VAMOS were from fasttech (China) my provari outlived all five VAMOS in a span of five months. They need to improve the center pin build, like a lot.

+1 on the battery stack! I stack my Vamo V5 and it works fantastic (stainless version) keep my gun metal chrome version as a home only and back up unit.
FT has great prices on the Vamo's like 30 bux for a V2 and what, like 32 bux for a V5

how many times did you sit on it or drop it. I think any vamo will last as long as a provari w/proper care

As Powerband did, I have to question your care.

Your 5 (!!!) Vamos break in the same manner within 5 months, yet my 2 Vamos have both managed to survive 7 and 9 months with no signs of anything going wrong. I'd dare say that my 2 have seen way more use than any of your 5.
What do you suppose the difference is?

Mine were also from FastTech.

I would hope no vendor is dumb enough to buy from FastTech and compete with their own customers able to pay the same price. I'm sure some vendors are that dumb though.

I lost a Vamo 5. At a party. With a Protank III and 2-18350. All less than a week old.
I bought a Sigelei Legend kit and a Protank Aero to replace it.
Well, be informed the Aero tank does not work with Segelei Legend,
unless you use an adapter. Long mod I have now.
Even if I feel the Legend has better quality,
I still miss my Vamo 5 and the Protank III.
May reorder again. All from Fastech.

Either god didn't like me owning a VAMO or I kept getting merchandise defects. I didn't drop it once, I've had it for a week the worse thing I could've done to it was vape it. The center pin just pops off. It doesn't matter either way now, I'm happy with my APV atm

Are you talking the pin that hits the battery or the pin that hits the atty?

Some time back when hearing about the V5 being out I was considering getting one to replace the V2 I just passed along to someone recouping from major surgery as well as having been out of work for some time as it is. His Itaste VV V3 bit the dust leaving him with a VTR he just happened to have won in some contest.

The thing I took notice of right away of course was the removable top collar for use of eGo threaded tanks without the need for a 510 to eGo adapter. Before that could happen however the holidays came up along with the MVP2.0 four VV V3s to go with that, two eGo-V V3 1300 VV/VW usb passthrough batteiries, the SMOK Groove II, and then the ACE aluminum replacement to suceed the V5 even replacing the heavier stainless telescoping mod for the lighter aluminum when comparing the SID and ZMax Mini as well. A second ACE will be in early next week and make a pair of gold mods running 3400mah 18650s! :D

It's interesting here however to hear the feedback on the V5s since I know a vendor who just started carrying them in stock and would want to be aware of any potential problems. At the same time I've been running these other variable batteries and mods with not one issue so far while others seem to have problems?! I suspect rough handling and how they go about things may be why those problems came up however.

Most vendors most likely get their Vamos from KSD not fasttech, the price is the same as KSD.

This store I was referring to hasn't even been open long enough to have their grand opening yet. In fact, no permanent signage yet either. Therefore, I don't think he's sold that many. He did mention that one of them had a button issue. But I agree, there's usually a lemon in every batch of something.

Bummer to hear about your Vamo man

I feel that I need to clarify that I DID NOT PURCHASE THE VAMO. But I'm glad for those of you have a good product!
