I got a Vamo v3 a couple months ago and my attys won't screw on anymore. I checked against my old ego-t and they all screw on nice and tight there. So I figure it's the threads inside the mod.

Just to be clear, these threads are 510 threads into which you screw your atty. The atomizers are fine on the ego. But they won't screw into the Vamo.

Someone suggested getting a 7mm x .5 bottom tap? The ones I looked at don't thread all the way to the bottom, so I'm wondering if this will even work.

I really can't shell out any cash for a new mod at the moment. How do I save this mod?

Something I have seen that struck me as a good idea (never tried it though) is to get a thin wire, something like a fine speaker wire and wrap that around a 510 to 510 connector. Then screw that into the vamo and leave it in there.

You might also take a look around the Vamo forum. You need 15 posts to respond or ask your question there, but you will be able to view the forum to search for similar threads.

well you could try and use a airflow control top on it. They screw into the 510 threads and then you screw the atomizer into it. If necessary one could dab some liquid weld onto the control threads so that it would be secure, making sure you don't get to much so as to mess up the contact pin. That way you'd have a new set of 510 threads for you atomizer while you save up for a Provari. Good luck.

unfortunately this is the biggest fail with vamo's - I have one with the 510 threads stripped which I now use with ego devices only (mini pt, evod etc.

My other one I have a mini vivi nova beauty ring (the straight sided ones) on it to prevent me from over tightening and stripping the 510 threads.

Someone needs to create an ego to 510 thread adaptor (there are already tons of 510 to ego)

Sorry man but this is what prompted me to order a zmax3 (woohoo - 25 days since ordered and it finally got sorted in LA - hopefully only 10 more days to arrival)

Literally just busted a protank's threads off in my Vamo v3 (my only VW MOD) Guess I will go to the HW store tomorrow and get a 6.5mm left hand drill bit. If that gets the PT threading out and buggers the mod threads, might try getting a 7mm x 0.5 bolt and grind a beveled notch into it to chase the threads.

Buying a tap in US at MSC costs $10 + $10 for shipping all for a $34 mod.

Luckily I found some deals on Sigeili ZMAXs for around $40 and had ordered one over the weekend cause I was worid about having only 1 VW.

I suggest getting eGo threaded clearomizers, I have a few I got from FT, they work surprisingly well

Also a repair in the form of 510 to 510 adapter and some conductive epoxy might work...once you strip those fine internal threads...I'm afraid it's all over...too bad you can't buy the body components for Vamo (apparently it's under the ideology of if it breaks it's so cheap just throw it away and get a new one)
