Hey guys, I'm going to be starting my arlo inspired vamo box mod in the next day or two, and I was wondering what I should do about the up/down buttons. I have tact switches for them, they are four posts, the same as what's on the board, do I need to use all four posts or can I just use 2? Also, is there an easy way to remove the buttons from the PCB without damaging the board?

.....You only need to use two of the four posts. Verify which two with your Volt Ohm Meter. {VOM} -When I made my Arlo variant with your same Vamo board, I did not completely remove the buttons. I simply took off the "top half" of the three buttons by grinding the plastic nubs on the corners of each button. {I did not de-solder anything.}

Then the board is of much lower profile and easier to fit into the case. Hope this helps!

Ok, thanks! I just recieved the board the other day and was checking it out, and it would be really tight to try and solder anything in betwen the two up/down buttons. Thats why I was asking if i could just remove them. I really like how yours turned out, and am loosely following your posts on it to build mine. I'm just waiting on the housing at this point, its finally in the US, so any day now right?! Haha. I can only hope mine turns out as nice as yours!

With a vamo v5 board, How much battery life can I expect out of a 2000 mah 20 amp battery? Steam-engine.org says I will get about 33 min of total runtime and 400 "puffs" @ 5 seconds. Is this fairly realistic? I've never used I higher end regulated mod. The reason I'm considering running one battery is because it just seems way to tight for my ability to fit all 3 buttons, the 510, and the PCB into a single 18650 slot.

Well, Changed my mind.... Again. :p I decided to just do one battery. I figure I can always do a double 18650 later down the road. 1 should be more than enough because this will just be my out-n-about vape. At home I have my nemesis. I got all my holes cut out and a couple things epoxied in to place. I couldnt start soldering anything yet, because the tip I bought for my iron was the wrong one. So first thing in the morning tomorrow I'm going to go exchange it and get everything soldered up and finished. Pics to come! :vapor:

Got it finished, and it's great! Very happy with how this came out, may not be the prettiest but it works great! I may have to consider doing a vinyl wrap like some other people have done to cover up some of the working marks! :laugh::vapor:

Thanks for all the help you've guys provided me with, I feel like it really made a difference in my final product!
