Just ordered a Vamo. Was wondering in RMS mode using a 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer would I be safe using 8-9 watts without burning up the cartomizer. Will be using either 1 18650 or stacked 18350's if that makes a difference. In this mode does it make a difference what the volts are set at or does the device regulate that as this is my understanding? This is my first vv/vw device. Lost when it comes to voltage, watts, amps and how it all correlates to one another. Thanks for any advice.

Hey garyd,
Yes the the voltage is automatically regulated by whatever wattage setting you have it at in RMS depending on the ohms of your attachment so also using stacked 18350's is fine also. It will automatically adjust to whatever you set. Also running a 1.5 ohm dc carto which I have my 1.5 ohm DCT tank on mine right now, but if you run it at 8-9 watts like you were saying you should be fine as that would only be between 3.4 and 3.7 volts. I have had mine at 10 watts with no problems. Trial and error and taste/vapor preference will determine your range that you find the best. Have fun and happy vapin!!:D

Thanks guys, got the Vamo and all I can say is frickn' awesome! Using the 1.5 ohm dual coil cartomizer on a 5ml. tank. Speaking of tank this thing is built like one! I got the older chrome version with the white buttons from Vaporbeast for $49.99 shipped. Bought it as soon I saw the youtube review from Phil. I don't know if this is the best price I could have got for the older version but I'm happy just the same. Ordered on Monday had it on Friday. First off build quality is excellent, clicky buttons, nice finish and good threads. I installed a Trustfire 18650 battery and no battery rattle whatsoever. I put my 5ml chrome tank on and it's perfectly straight on the 510 connection. Experimented with settings in RMS mode up to 10 watts. 10 watts is a bit much for me, 8-9 watts seems to be the sweet spot, tons of vapor, great throat hit, this device is all it's said to be and more. IMO opinion you can't go wrong for the money. I'll be looking for a good deal on another one as a backup as no way of telling how long this one will last but it seems to be a good one! Couldn't be happier and once again thanks to all for your replies.

Health Cabin has the SS Vamo (Bamboo) for $43 and change. I got mine shipped via DHL in four days.

eGo Bamboo APV V2 (Stainless Body) [D-B4 APV Stainless] - $43.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

It says "sold out" at the moment, but they replenish stock fairly quickly.

tnt, you're misunderstanding how dual coils work. The VW device will treat a single coil at 1.5 ohms just the same as a dual coil at 1.5 ohms. The difference is that you can drive the dual higher because the individual coils are twice the resistance and can handle the heat. The problem is that since you can drive them at a higher wattage, you will be drawing more amps from the device.

Thanks, I may be buying from Health Cabin again haven't done it in a couple years and never had a problem when I did. How much is DHL shipping from them?

Can't say for sure in your case, but I just loaded up on cartos, obviously the Vamo, an epipe, some juices, and some other smaller things and the shipping was $19. DHL is cheaper than EMS and, from what I've read, less likely to be seized by customs.

Just my :2c: on VW devices. They don't know if your using dual coils or single coils. You still got to make the change yourself. If you think a dual coil 1.5 will work on a device that's only reading one coil then good luck. I got two of em and will sell either one in a heart beat

After some research I found that these are two 3 ohm coils in parallel making the total resistance 1.5 ohms. My Vamo reads it at 1.5 ohms so it's reading both coils in parallel.
No problems so far, tons of vapor, no burnt taste using at 8-9 watts.

With 1.5 ohm dual coils on my Vamo (still in the trial and error phase) I found 9 watts to be the best thus far. I started with a 2 ohm dual coil and it tasted horrid. I almost scrapped the whole DCT tank Vamo project right off the get go. I may have had a bad carto, because it tasted like .....

Are you sure your carto was properly filled and not burning dry? Also you may need to experiment with different wattages for different resistance cartos.

They were dry... You are correct sir. I have found 2.0 ohm dual coils are now my goto at 8-9 watts. Perfect every time. Damn learning curve...lol
