its normal. my eVic is the same way too. my 2.4ohm vivi nova reads from 2.5 to 3.0. thats why I just use VV mode so the voltage does not fluctuate like it would in VW mode.

That is backwards. You should always be looking for a steady power output. That is wattage, not voltage.
Your flavor and production will vary with changes in output. Voltage is input.
Steady 3.7v on 2.5 ohms is not the same as steady 3.7v on 3.0ohms
7 Watts output is same end result irregardless of coils ohms

That works great unless the vamo is misreading. If the coil is really all over the map, thats good news - VW will follow it around. If the ohm reader is unstable (and the coil is stable) then VV is the way to go. (I haven't seen back to back measurements change, although I've had a few weird readings. I just take it off and back on, then retest and its fine. Oh, and I've got some that read as much as .5ohms different between vamo and evic. I should test them on the multimeter and see who is right..)

you will always see minor discrepancy due to software not compensating fully for minor resistance differences from the circuit board to through the 510 connection. As long as a device is always .x off from a meter you at least know it is functioning properly.
i.e. your 1.8ohm may be my 1.6, device to device.

That sounds like magic.....

Which part? When taking it off/on works, my hypothesis is that a bad connection is giving weird readings. I haven't dug into it much beyond that since it has only happened a handful of times. (I switch heads/flavors a dozen or more times a day, and always take a reading to be sure its seated properly and reading sanely. Don't want to be at work with no spares and blow a coil cuz it read 8ohms instead of 1.9..)

ETA: you cursed me ;) I just got one reading 4.8. Took it off, back on, retested, its 2.6..
