Thanks for the info with the magnet... I was doubting the finish in mine. The center section "feels" like SS with the groves and all, but not the rest. magnet verified all SS. Got my new bottom cap today, and it is buttery smooth! Now I can get an 18350 and go shorty mode.

If it's just the battery cap you can get one here VAMO APV V2 Cap

I had just received it from Exhale vapors and it would not work properly. They sent me a replacement cap. It is perfect now!

Try a magnet
SS is not magnetic

Do not use that as a guide
Some SS is magnetic, these are referred to as ferritic, martensitic or duplex (400 series of stainless). Austenitic stainless steels are non-magnetic (most common)

Chrome plated brass however is non-magnetic!

yeah my chrome vamo is non-magnetic also..
