vamo v5 hiccup?

hi guys, got the vamo v5 about a week ago having moved on from 510 e-cigs to the mod side of vaping, a couple of things with mine, i am running a kanger twin coil tank on 5v 11w wich gives me a good vape but now and again the vamo wanders up to the 6v setting by it's self? Then i get the burnt taste obviously and have to knock it back to 5v, anyone else had this? Also if you swith off the display does this render the menue buttons inoperative so as not to move any settings when i put it down or slip in to my pocket for a minute? Other than these hiccups i am pleased with the vamo so far.

If you are using different tanks also, i recommend to use the vamo on watts. If you only use Kanker, set it to your desired volts and happy vape. Also, when you turn off the device, all buttons are inactive untill you turn it back on. Remember if you want to set your vamo to watts, the formula is (volts * volts) / resistance = Watts. Keep that in mind !

so if i up the watts does the vamo alter the volts by itself then? i have been setting manually the volts and watts to 5v 11w sometimes altering just the watts depending on what juice i use, also i meant when you select to turn off the LCD display not the vamo itself and carry on vaping does this setting disable the menu buttons? Thanks in advance..... and thanks for the replies!

If you set it on vw the chip will do whatever conversion needed to give you that when you change tanks based on the coil in the next tank which is why people refer to it as "set it and forget it". If you have a wattage you like to vape it, set it there and the theory is to leave it there no matter what device you using as a topper. I have a Vamo and use the volts setting as I like to adjust due to topper, juice, etc. so the whole "set it and forget it" thing doesn't seem to work for me.

Regarding locking or deactivating the screen, it does not lock the device on a setting. It simply keeps the lights from turning on when you push buttons thus helping with stealth vaping.

I have never had mine change settings on its own but the buttons are super easy to bump and adjust.

I have a Vamo.

I have almost no idea how it works. (not a joke....)

I turn it on and fiddle around with it until it's doing 8w or whatever. That's as far as my interest in it goes.

Now, the evic on the other hand (dead now, 23,000 puffs) was interesting. It told me the ambient temperature, listed all bluetooth and wi-fi devices in range, ordered Pizza for me and transferred money into my Paypal.

So much interest, for so little money (£100) over such a long, long, long time. (less than 5 months). :)

Which would I buy again?

VAMO :)

I suspect Joyetech is an anagram for "over-priced, over-fragile rubbish for people with more money than sense"....

LOL on the eVic dig!

I have one, I do like it. I bought it as new, but used. For a used price thank goodness, as if I had thrown down the $130 retail price, I would have been very sad. Yep, it feels cheap but has been faithfully dependable for the 4 months I have been using it (so far). I treat it like its made of glass though. Glitch free go figure.

My Smok SID however, feels strong, solid, quality...

I am constantly pulling the center pin back up and fixing the random settings changes that occur due to the flakey fire button on the SID.

I paid about the same for both devices. Both are cheap, disposable Chinese junk. Cheap. Disposable. Those are the operative words.

I suspect that a Zmax,Vamo,(insert any other Chinese regulated mod brand here) are all about the same.

The thing about all of this in vaping is that the market is in it's infancy. I hope the products mature into better, sturdier, cheaper products in time.

I have learned that I will not be buying anything Latest/Greatest however as this stuff turns over product cycles faster than early computer gear. I can always buy 3 months ago latest greatest for a 50% discount.

Ha ha! excorsism, might aswell try! I noticed the menu buttons are light to the touch, have to be careful when placing it down i guess, also have taken delivery of some Sanyo 18650's with a flat top, the others i had (....e fire) were button tops which according to the internet won't work with the mod, it's a learning curve but i think i'll get there eventually!
Cheers guys.....
