Vamo v5 problems

Did I make a mistake ordering it? I'm seeing a lot of people complaining about threads getting messed up:( maybe il send it back. I'm willing to shell out the cash. Anyone have suggestions for a great apv? Preferably one with strong hardware.
I also ordered a nautilus tank with it because rip trippers on YouTube was crazy about it.

I have a vamo v5 and have not had any problems with it my only dislike is how long it is in 18650 mode. I prefer my MVP 2, or my Hana clone over the vamo for that reason alone.

Okay well that makes me feel better. I haven't even gotten it yet but I was just getting worried. I think il check those out too. Buying vape stuff is so addicting!

Provari. Not cheap, No Variable wattage (Who Cares) but probably the best, well built, Made in the USA, APV.

I have 2 Vamo V5's. What problem are you having.

Oh I own a Provari also.

Before you buy any other APV take a look at UTube for PBusardo. He give in depth reviews of all new, and older with older videos, APV's.

If your a Normal Vaper and don't need 30+ watts of power there are several units available. Innokin iTaste MVP, iTaste VV V3 (eGo like) and several others.

I have a Vamo V2 that I've used daily for over a year now. I think if you're careful with threading your toppers on, you'll be fine. I used an air flow adapter for quite a while to protect my threads, but quit using it about 6 months ago and mine's doing fine.

Just be gentle with it when you're screwing stuff on and off.

Yeah the Vamo isn't the best but it doesn't cost that much, around 35-50 depending on where you buy it.

I notice the threads are fine if, like pointed out, you are careful when putting on and taking off your atomizers.

I'm using mine with 18350 batteries to keep them shorter. I just stick the batteries on a charger every couple of night. I have 7 battery systems and they are all used all the time so the batteries on all of them last a few days.

I picked up a V5 at a local shop yesterday
The 510 threads were messe3d up there at the shop so they checked another and gave it to me
The only thing with mine is there is a gap between the bottom of my PT2 and the top of the V5 even with the top cap on

I guess I need to find a spacer of some kind to fill the gap

I have a V5 with no thread problems, Only thing I've noticed is mine seems to overcook the juice more than my other mod's
even at the same wattage. If you scour this forum you'll see Many Many different problems with the Vamo. I think its a pretty good
deal. Price isnt that bad at all, Theres alot of better Mods available, Like everthing else, there are plenty of folks Loyal To Vamo!!!

That is because the 33Hz Pulse Wave modulation of the control chip used in the Vamo. It always delivers 6volts to the coil no matter what voltage or wattage setting you have it set to. It pulses 6 Volts then Off then back on at that 6 volts. it does that at different rates to supposedly average out to what it is set to.

So it will always seem to be hotter than other devices that supply a flat line signal.

Take a look at the review of the Vamo on PBusardo's Youtube video. Compare it to a device, like the Provari, that has a flat DC signal.

The Vamo is not the only regulated device that uses that 33Hz chip.

Even the low cost eGo style VV devices, Spinner, iTaste VV and the like, have a flatter signal than those that use that same or similar 33Hz chip.

I can't even measure the voltage output of my Vamo's with my multimeter when it is set to DC. It reads a much lower voltage, like 1.xxx. I have to set the meter to AC and then it reads the voltage to .1-.2 volts of what the Vamo is set to.

I have two. One is a V5, the other is a second-hand V2 for backup. No problems with threads. I have two ego to ego/510 adapters just in case. Last week I had trouble with the base getting hot, but discovered that the spring was in the wrong position, and was not conducting adequately. I always use 18650 batteries, dissatisfied with battery life on 18350.

One of the best choices for the price.

If you have the disposable income I would second the Provari. I had my first with a Nautilus on it for about a week and a half before ordering my second one.

Pro tip for those that don't know: When starting to thread your tank on, turn it counter-clockwise first to seat it, then thread it on to help from cross-threading.
