What I did was barely unscrew the top section with a rod on the 510 and covered channel locks on the body below the LCD. That woke her up and she is working well now , I've got a KLF on top running some home brew vanilla/cav net at 19 watts and its performing well. Hoping it stays that way.
Rockbottomvapes had a "Deal of the Day" - $37 plus shipping. It's supposed to arrive Monday. Will let ya know after I can give it a spin....

Sounds like you have something shorting out inside - the center pin insulator at the top.
I've replaced my vamo3 centerpin insulator twice so far; use the grommet from a protank coil the last time. So far so good for 6 months.
Hardest part was taking out the pressfit top; tried for over a week.
If you have a removable collar, thread a tube section on in place, put the cap on it to keep it structurally strong and use that for leverage, go slow, it works very well, but remember when you get it almost of be careful you only have an inch maybe of extra wick in there.
I have never had any luck with the Vamos...threads strip every time and I am super careful. You think they would go to stainless steel threads instead of the soft brass ones. But I guess thats why they are so cheap.

I got one coming, I paid 31.43 thru focalecig with a coupon from vaping cheap (FCVAPINGCHEAP).
It looks like a lot has improved...all stainless etc.

You are describing exactly what is happening. The press fit top looks impossible to get off, by twisting the top the short goes away. I sure hope the one I have on order does act up like this.
Here's the pic from when I took the pressfit top off back in April 2014 to replace the insulator on the center pin.
the pic isn't showing. But I am happy to report that the 25W model I just received from fast tech has no issues and works 100%.

I'm loving the 25w model, its so much lighter and smaller than my Segelei 20. I think these are great products if you get a good one, I ordered another from fast tech (20 w). I'm kinda wishing all my mods were V6's (excluding the provari's of course) the form factor and interface is perferct.
My 20W showed up today! I'm liking it so far. Got a full-sized Nauti sitting on it loaded with DIY orange cream
Happy, happy, happy. It does seem lighter than my Sig Zmax. Seems like a solid unit so far

Hey all, just got my Vamo V6 from Rock Bottom Vapes on Monday and gotta say NICE! Ordered on Friday, shipped same day and received it Monday, Whoa! Take THAT Fasttech!
Was using an MVP and was looking for a little more oomph out of my Nautilus Mini and KFL and this is just what I needed. Both are really sweet somewhere around 14-16 watts! Man, what a boost in flavor a couple of watts make!
When I ordered he said they were KSD built units as there are apparently a LOT of different factories pumping these things out and quality ranges drastically depending on who made it. I have heard some of the ones coming from Fasttech are super schetchy. Quality on mine is superb, buttery smooth threading, beautiful SS finish, silver plated and adjustable 510 pin and silver plated battery spring. For $37 you can't go wrong!

I agree these are winners, even after the bad first (got a refund) I bought 2 more a 25W and 35W just cause they are such a deal on fast tech.
With the bad one I want to get the top piece off and fix the short but its really pressed in there, can't think of a slide hammer that would fit in the grooves.
