Hey guys. I just bought a new Vamo. I have upgraded from a eGo C Twist. I'm experiencing a problem with it. My Vamo works really well with my Protank, but when I use a ce4 or a i16 tank, I get this nasty burn taste that drys out my throat. The voltage isn't too, I even tried it at 3 volts. I don'y experience this burn when I on my Protank though. Any thoughts? Why won't my other tanks work?

well from experience......and pure experience the clear 16 and CE4s don't do well for me at all........more than likely an airflow problem......since you have a VAMO just stick those cheaper tanks in the drawer as backups......LOL

I never had any issues with pro tanks on the VAMO as you are not having as well so i would stick with what works....

wow never seen that before....usually they come with the Iclear 30's or something.......they were made for ego type batteries thus making me believe its an airflow issue on the VAMO.......but throwing all that aside your pro tanks are working good and thus they should be......the VAMO was my first MOD and its now my backup mod when at work.......enjoy

i always use wattage just so i know I'm getting the same amount of V so when i change out flavors and wicks i can just adjust the wattage for my flavor/vape experience..........if you are on the stock coils then 8-10 watts should be good on the pro tank.......if you ever start rebuilding those pro tanks with cotton and micro coils you could go all the way up to 14W.......i was on 15W on a micro cotton coil and still had room to go up.....the VAMO is versatile......LOL

I run microcoils on mine at either 6V or 15W, whatever will mathematically give me more amps to the coil. I'm sure that in reality though, I'm not getting 6 volts to a 1.2-Ohm coil, and that it's topping out at 15 Watts (~4.2 Volts) as I don't really notice a difference between the two modes on maximum setting.

When I was primarily using cartotanks I would use a 3-ohm carto and run the Vamo at 8 to 8.5 Watts. (~4.9-5.0 Volts theoretically)

Okay, so I switched it to RMS Mode and it was working really well. Then after about a half hour of vaping it, it got burnt really badly again. I check to make sure it was in RMS Mode, and it was. Is my device switching to AVG without showing me? The LCD said I was still in RMS. Do you think my device was faulty? Also when I check the resistance of my tank, its jumping all over the place. from 7 to 2.8.

If the resistance is jumping all over like that, it's usually due to a bad coil.

What I have seen with a lot of the CE4 style clearos is that the resistance wire will start to burn the rubber insulator that holds it to ground. You may be tasting the nasty flavor of that burnt rubber insulator. This can be fixed by rebuilding the coil using resistance wire with non resistance legs, but it's not worth it for the cheap clearos, IMO...
