I love my simple ex, the draw is so perfect i cant match it with almost anything else. It comes with 2 top caps, one for rdl vaping which is ultem and fits super tight and one metal top cap which is for mtl which i prefer and has the prefect draw. Unfortunately the metal top cap does not fit tight at all and this becomes an issue because it tends to rotate on its own and away from the airhole i have it set for. I tried plumbers tape around the rda and that works but has the disadvantage of having to remove the plumbers tape if i want to switch to the other top cap for rdl vaping.

I need a solution, i guess, that involves doing something to the metal top cap itself so it fits tighter and not messing with the rda. Even thicker o-rings on the rda will work but then i can't use the ultem top cap at all. Any tips especially if anyone has experienced a similar issue with a top cap and found a solution would be much appreciated.

To be able to use Both RDA Caps it sounds like you are going to have to 1st get the Metal Cap the way you like it, then Sand the inside of the Ultem Cap ever so slightly unto it fits they way you want it.

Of course, getting a slightly bigger O-Ring for the RDA Body would be a great fix. But there are a Bajillion Combinations and Permutation of O-right Sizes/Stretch Amounts to choose from. And most of them are Online so you can quickly rackup a Small Fortune in Shipping Charges to find the magical O-Ring size.

So what you could do is remove One of the O-rings from the RBA Body and place a piece of Waxed Dental Floss in the O-Ring Groove. Green Waxed Dental Floss always worked best for me for some reason - LOL. Then replace the O-Ring. If that Doesn't Tighten things enough, remove the piece of Floss you started with and add a Longer Piece. And or do Both O-Rings.

If you can get the Metal Cap Good-to-Go, now the Ultem Cap should be Horribly Tight. But you can GENTLY rub the Inside of the Cap with a Brown or Green Scotch Brite Pad while watching Olympic Short Track semis you recorded from yesterday.

Go Slow. Rub the inside of the Cap a couple of turns, Clean it off, then Check it. Wrapping the Scotch Brite pad around a Popsicle Stick or something similar can help you get an Even sanding. Rub, Clean, Check, Repeat.

Just keep in mind Two Things. That Sanding Ultem will remove it's Translucently. It's gonna look Foggy. And Most Importantly when Sanding.. You can Take it Off but You Can't Put it Back On. Always Go Slow.

So if you only have the One Ultem Cap and you Really Love the Clearness of it, I wouldn't rush out and start Sanding. Maybe just try the Dental Floss on the Metal Cap for a Week or Two and make sure it is what you want. You might also see if you can Find another Ultem Cap, Always better to do a Modification on something if you have a Back-Up of the Original.

Hope all this Helps. I've sanded a Few Ultem RDA Slam Caps and they turned out Great. The Key is to Go Slow.

Yeah... You can't do much with Metal RDA Caps but adjust the O-Rings. And just about Anything you put behind an O-Ring will make it stick out farther. So will make the Cap fit on Tighter.

Sanding, to Me, is more of a Last Resort. But when you get to that Turn in the Road, Sometimes, its the Way to Go.
