Okay, complete newbie to vaping. I bought my first vape a little over two months ago. Everything has been great. Until this morning. I have a ecto 1100 passthrough vape. So I need some help.
This morning, I pulled the battery off of my charger, cleaned out the tank, changed the coil, filled with a new flavor and left for work. Everything was clean and good to go. Driving to work I was able to hit it twice before the button started blinking yellow at me (it's sign that something is wrong). Perfect. It's done this before, usually because I've flooded the battery connection. Stop on the side of the road, clean the battery and put it back together. The button lights up green to tell me everything is okay and we move on. Get to work and try to vape again, two hits and it's flashing yellow. Damn. I take it apart, check the coil, check the battery, everything seems okay, put it back together and it's green again. Awesome. Five hits later and nothing. No smoke, no lights, nothing. Okay. Maybe I forgot to plug the charger into the wall and I killed it. Plug the battery into my work charger and the usb passthough lights up blue like normal, BUT still nothing from the battery. Normally on the passthrough when you push the button it will light up green, yellow, or red depending on how much charge it has, I've got NOTHING.

Now at this point, I know all batteries will die eventually, but I've only had this for two months and don't really have the money to go drop on a new system. Did I buy a ....ty system and I'm screwed or is there something I'm missing here? ?!?!?! Please help!

Put battery on charger for a few moments, it now thinks it's fully charged but STILL won't turn on. :(

Shirtbloke,
I wasn't actually sure about how that worked, so if you can advise that would be awesome. I had originally purchased the Ecto 1100 started kit pictured above. I had some problems with the coils burning out super fast and the tank leaking and the shop I had purchased from was pretty far from me (and LESS than helpful), so I went to my local vape shop. He didn't carry the bottom dual coils that fit the tank and battery. So he sold me a Kangertech EVOD 2 tank and bottom dual coils. (I'm just realizing that maybe this is part of my problem? I have no idea how this works) Told me everything should be fine, it's just a different coil style and tank and I haven't had any issues with it. So I have the ECTO 1100 battery and the Kangertech EVOD 2 tank and coils. I have no idea what kind of replacement battery I would even need, or what the average cost of JUST the battery was. I was sort of under the impression that I had to get the whole thing not just a battery? Is there a certain wattage or whatever MaH(?) I should be looking for, so I don't get screwed again? I'm feeling really clueless here, just a gal who wanted to quit smoking and is frustrated I had to go buy analogs this morning.

1: 2 months
maybe battery is dieing; lithium based batteries can be recharged nominally for 300 recharges; after 2 months you're probably past the first 100 recharges.

2: centerpin
you might just be experienceing centerpin contact problems; overtightening tends to make it worse.

3: I think you just experienced your "Aaaaarrrrggg....... I need a BACKUP" day

4: oh- and maybe the charger is faulty; that's one of the problems I had back when I used to use ego type batteries

Edyle,
1) :( This is disappointing news to me
2) thanks for the suggestion, I just searched youtube videos on how to fix it, and it didn't work. :(
3) This experience and having to smoke analogs this morning has made me want to buy 10000000 replacement parts today.
4) I've used two different chargers and it is definitely charging (the battery has a charge light that is working it seems)

This is my name
I'm using the 1.5 ohm kangertech dual bottom coils and a kangertech EVOO 2 tank

It's perfectly fine to mix and match things. The Evod tanks are fine - I used to use them myself - and they should work OK with any EGo or Evod battery. For the price of that Ecto battery you could get 2 or more standard Ego/Evod battery (non passthrough) and then you'll always have a backup - one in use and one charging. It always helps to have a backup if one goes south - as you're finding out. Most coils for the Evod are around the 2 ohms mark and you don't want to go below that as the standard batteries can't handle any lower. As for the mah - a general rule of thumb is that 150mah = 1 hours vaping.

Rule number 1: have a backup system.
Rule number 2: have a backup system for your backup system.

I really don't know what's wrong with your rig, but I do know you've heard good advice: turn if off and on, clean it, check the charger, etc. If none of that is working, you probably need a new battery. Your EVOD tank is eGo threaded, I think. Any eGo threaded battery will work. Variable voltage batteries are nicer, but more expensive. Variable wattage batteries are nicer still, and still more pricey, if not yet exorbitant. I'd suggest an MVP 20 watt or an iStick 20 watt mod as a replacement. It costs more but will last longer and go farther between recharges. Both are 510 threaded, so you would also need a 510-eGo adapter. Test the system before you leave the store and don't pay until it's working with your tank. If you want to upgrade tanks, look at an Aspire Mini Nautilus or Nautilus. The difference is size...

Well in that case the resistance is fine.

My advice would be to check out the vendor section of this forum. I know after just a few minutes you would be able to find a couple spare ego sticks for real cheap.

Side note: I've never heard of ecto. You may want to go with a company with a better track record (and i realize it's hard to know who's who when you are just starting) like kanger, aspire and joyetech. Or vision. I used vision spinner 2s until I took the plunge for my first box mod. They work reliably in my experience.

Hope you find something that works for you!

Ok. I ended up with an eGo-C twist because that's all my local shop really had besides boxes and I really prefer something simple. I like the just charge, fill, and go and I'm not really interested in building coils and all that. Again, dude swears I'm good running this with disposable kanger 1.5 ohm bottom dual coils and kanger tank. I generally buy my juice from the vapor shop online, so i guess I'll see what they have in terms of batteries. But if anybody has suggestions besides get a box , I'm all ears here. Lol

hahaha yeah, @Shirtbloke I got a charger for it after I walked out of the store and sat in my car for 10 minutes trying to figure out how to take off the "twist" to charge on my mini USB. :( My local shop is VERY much a "boys club" and caters to those who are into building their own gear and whatnot. They tend to ignore me completely when i need advice on something. This is what I get for working in rural PA.

I need to place a juice order from the Vapor Room soon, and they seem to have KangerTech EVOD batteries on sale, so I'll probably grab a few back ups for my back ups. I'd like to get new tanks too (it would be nice to have two or three different flavor changes in a day without having to clean everything out) but I'm super anxious about what will work together and with the coils I already have. . . I don't want to have two different types of replacement coils to keep track of.
