Vape gear and International U.S airports. Should I be worried about them confiscating my gear?

I'm flying out from Denver International Airport to Anaheim, CA on Tues. I've read that the TSA is pretty knowledgeable about e-ciggs/vape equipment, but I'm still worried. I want to bring my eleaf istick, aspire nautilus mini and a 30ml bottle of juice with me. I cannot take the battery out of the eleaf. Should I pack it in my luggage or take it all apart and bring it in my carry-on bag?

Any filled tanks and bottles of liquid will need to go in the plastic bag you check through security for liquids (with perfumes, toothpaste, etc.). All batteries, mods, empty tanks should be in your carry on - don't put them in your checked luggage. Don't worry about having to remove the battery from something like an istick.

I once travelled from SFO to JFK with two tube mods, 3 atty's, and no e-liquids. I just explained to the TSA agent that this was vape gear, and there were no liquids in it. I put all the vape gear in those little jewelry buckets, the guy swabbed them all, cleared them as safe, and I went on my merry way.

On the way back to SFO from JFK, I had two bottles of juice, in the ziploc bag as the only liquids on the carry on, as I like to keep all the vape gear in the carry-on so I can explain myself if need be. The TSA agent this time wasn't so nice. He saw the bag of liquids, asked me how flammable it was, and before I could answer, tossed it out, and called "next!".

tl;dr depends on how nice the TSA agent is. May luck be on your side.
