yep I've had that happen from the sort facility to a city some 20 miles away then sent back to the sort facility then sent back to that same city where it was put on a truck and in the status of out for delivery then back to the sort facility but it arrived the next day

Yeah, see, I suspect the records are being reported out of order. Not that the package is actually moving. I've had that happen also where it "bounced" between the big Austin sorting facility and the local PO but it arrived on time.

My most recent orders, though, have made more sense. I think they're getting some of the bugs out...

Myself, I'm willing to cut the PO some slack. They're taking a beating lately by Congress and it's not fair. The bit about having to prefund retirement for 75 years is insane. They're being forced to set aside money for employees that haven't even been born yet. No company nor other government agency is being forced to do anything that nuts.

Also, I do know they have been upgrading their tracking system lately. It's becoming more detailed and informative. At the same time, there have been glitches. It's a huge system. Upgrading it is going to be bumpy.

Some of the reports of packages "bouncing" between locations aren't actually real. That is, in the sense, the package did not actually go anywhere. The tracking system sometimes seems to get records out of order. When the upgrade happened, I had packages "arrive" at facilities before they "departed". Then after they finally "departed", the vendor delivered them to the PO to ship. Wait... what? Time travel?

In recent orders, they've gotten much better. Right down to I don't "stalk" the mail man anymore. I get a "delivered" notice in email within an hour of him putting the package in the box. In fact, my Wizard order was too big to fix the mailbox and he brought it to the door. The computer when Ding! as he drove off. So I got the delivery notice within minutes of the actual, physical delivery. Which ain't bad.

(Better than both FedEx and UPS actually)

From what I've seen (computer and network geek I am), the system they're upgrading to is pretty snazzy. But they're still working out some kinks.

Given the billions (for real) items they process every year, it's kind of amazing the system works at all...

The only gripe I have with usps is the customer service. I talked to 10+ usps employees trying to get someone to help and all but one stuck their nose up at me. They all said there was nothing anyone could do. Once I found the one very nice lady willing to help progress was made. It took her all of 10 min to find an actual pic of my package. From that we were able to see why the package was in limbo, the phone number below the address. The package going in circles is not their fault. It's read by a computer programmed to read properly addressed packages. Adding a phone number to the bottom of a address(where the zip code goes) would certainly cause problems. I put that on sunnyvaping. The poor customer service usps displayed was disappointing. It was pure laziness. I do hope in their new system they implement a way to mark, snag or alert someone to circling packages. I realize they sort a lot of packages and what they do is impressive. But having no way to find someone's property other than digging through 30,000 packages by hand is not good.

rounding third and heading home...
wow, a little overly dramatic for an e-cig delivery.... it's not like you are waiting on some life-saving medicine. yes, I get you want your paid for goods but c'mon stuff happens and every little self appointed crisis doesn't need a big thread telling the world how upset you are. that is what I love about the internet and forums your minor glitch needs to be shared and commiserated by all. hope you get your stuff soon or maybe you are the type to take that gun to someplace other than the shooting range? RELAX...... USPS does a great job considering the volume of mail they handle. the people at my post office are nice and I get tired of people ragging on them when something happens every now and then.

I've had better experiences with them myself but, then, I also don't tolerate bad service. We (the public) do own them. They are accountable to us.

I actually got somebody fired locally once. Well, she got herself fired, I just helped her along. Packages that wouldn't fit in the mail box, she was supposed to get her, ahem, ample behind out of her vehicle and bring them to the door (I'm semi-rural, the mail box is, oh, a block length away or so... not that far). She was reporting "nobody home" (to the PO's system) and dumping the packages on my regular carrier but not leaving me any notices (aka "lying"). The local Postmaster and I had a sit down. Last I saw her, she threw a package at my door.

Oh no. No, no, no. I assisted her in seeking other employment at that point.

I have known bad POs. They're not all the same. It's a big system. Some local ones are just big piles of idiot or lazy. But most I've dealt with are nice, hard working folks.

Heh, I tend to cut them some slack because I am not a "people person". I am not the guy you want for your "customer service". I'm too blunt and don't really like those... what're they called? Humans? Smelly apes! They spread diseases you know? I know I couldn't put up with me.

(And I still don't unnerstan' why people say "misanthrope" as if it's a bad thing)

See? It varies. My Mail-lady drives up in her mail truck, gets out, and dumps the package by the door. Nice.

Although the P.O. is trying to reduce to-house deliveries to save $$$$. That costs a lot of extra time to walk up to each house. I suppose we could, as a society, decide we like that level of service and fork over the cash for it. People compare USPS to FedEx or UPS but don't admit that they pay more for the other services. So meh.

My regular carrier is fantastic. The problem one was a sub. The regular folk at my PO are all unfailingly nice and friendly and get the job done. I gotta a great local PO definitely.

And FedEx and UPS have their problems too. My local UPS? They're not just pricey, they're a cluster... erm... of bozos. I had an order once that was pretty urgent. To the degree the shipping cost more than the item itself. Signed up for the tracking alerts. Get an email noting "nobody home". When I happen to know I didn't leave the house.

Customer service and I had a rather tense discussion which included my description of my home office window past which you absolutely must walk to get to my door to leave the "sorry we missed you" sticker which, by the way, wasn't on the door. She was nice enough and said she'd "check into it".

Within an hour a UPS truck came barreling down the bumpy little stretch of "road" (I'm at a dead end and the county seems to have forgotten they own that stretch and it's... um... well, to save my truck, I drive so slowly down that bit turtles have been known to laugh as they pass me up). I'm surprised he didn't take out an oil pan or something. A human figure runs past my window, a package goes "PLOP" on my deck, and he runs back to his truck and tears outta here.

If I coulda got to the door fast enough, I was thinking of yelling, "Maybe next time, don't lie!"

Where I am, it's stupid stuff like that with every delivery. I dread having a company use them. I had them "deliver" to an empty house once. Doncha think the "for sale" sign and the lack of furniture and curtains and stuff might have been a give away you're at the wrong place? It was a minor order off Amazon and they replaced it. But a month later, I see this box sitting near the door of that unsold place and just had to go look. Yep. That was it.

Rain soaked and ruined of course.

My favorite though? FedEx. Mom ran a small business in her house before she retired. Her house was set back behind a small pasture with cattle. FedEx was delivering a fair amount of computer equipment one time.

The guy chucked the equipment into the cow pasture.

One of the bulls had a great time with the boxes...

I'm right there with you brother. I have nothing but the utmost respect for the hard working(IE; that 54 year old waitress who may be a little blunt and unfriendly but gets my order 100% correct... 30-40%, the 16 year old waitress that wont get her nose out of the iPhone her mommy bought for her, has to ask me what I ordered more than 3 times, but flirts with me and makes sure my beer is full... 15-20%) . But I have 0 respect for a company that will take your money but claim no liability or just outright don't care how you or others perceive their services. Being the customers we are well within our rights to question the service provided especially when it does not meet the standard they advertise.

Back when I worked in industry that depended on daily shipping, I came away with the following observations:

UPS - unloads the planes before they land and will sometimes fudge the rules to save time, but usually dependable. Expect package damage.
FedEx - mostly okay, but don't bother paying for the priority delivery if you aren't located near a delivery depot. Can't remember how many vendors/customers lost money shipping stuff priority when FedEx absolutely WOULD NOT deliver to us before 4:00 PM in the afternoon, and 90% of the time, no next-day delivery at all. Stuff usually in good shape, just not dependable delivery times.
USPS - iffy, but mostly okay. No dependable delivery time or condition - must learn patience. Much better now that the local postmaster is in the choir with me and my wife.

I ordered a magneto, kick, fuse, scar and a drip tip from sunnyvaping about 5 days ago. They sent it out the next day and a day later it was at my local usps sort facility. All was well and I thought I would have vape mail the next day. Thats not what happened. It was shipped to a post office about 20 miles away, then shipped back to my PO, then 20 miles away again, now its on its way back here. ...! I called every usps number I could find and everyone says its impossible to locate my package. Im fed up....... I messaged sunny vapors but no response yet. It was close to the end of the business day though, 4pm in Va. Their in Tx. USPS says I have to wait it out. Customer service at its finest............ Anyone else go through this?

Have never had a delivery problem such as this but have had problems with UPS and FedEx not wanting to knowck on the door because of a "Guard Dog On Duty" sign on our front door. I was expecting a package one day. Was even called by the vendor and they told me it was to be delivered between 1 and 2 PM. So with the door closed I sat and waited. The FedEx guy made an appearance, then started walking away. I opened the door and went after him. I asked why didn't he knock. He said he knocked 3 different times. I called him a liar and told him that I sat at the door and watched him pull up and get out. I asked him where the package was. He said that he took it back to the truck after no one answered from the 3rd knock. Again I called him a liar. He went back to the truck, got my package and handed it to me. I asked him what his name was he refused to give it to me but I did get the truck number and I called FedEx... The lady I spoke with told me that if there is any sign of anything that will harm the delivery person that its their discretion of whether or not they deliver the package. She asked me if we have an aggressive dog. I told her that he was a guard dog and that he does not run the property that he is secured in the house.

Now my problem with our local USPS is they cant never get the mail here on the same time. Sometimes it will get here at noon and sometimes its not until 7PM before we get our mail. And its never the same person. Last year they had a girl on our route and she was good. She had our mail here every day at 1 PM rain or shine. A bunch of us called her supervisor and complimented this fact and a week later she was taken of the route and it all went down hill....

I solved the mystery although I still don't have my package. The shipping label was filled out wrong. A couple days ago I messaged sunnyvaping and told them if the package ended up back to them, cancel the order. The responded with a big NO. They said the mistake was not theirs and they would not cancel the order. It's funny they denied all fault without really knowing where the fault lie. I personally don't want a sigelei kick that's bounced around from sorting machine to sorting machine for the last week. Those machines are not easy on packages. What they are good at is taking pics of the packages. I was able to get one usps employee to help me. After 15 of them telling me there was nothing anyone could do to help this one lady was able to pull a pic of my package in 5 min. The problem? Well sorting machines read the address from the bottom up. It's the most logical progression for getting the package to its destination. This is the was my address was written on my package. My Name

You don't put the phone number at the bottom of the address, it confuses the machine. Since that's not how you write addresses the machine is seeing my phone number as a zip code. Unfortunately this does not get my package to me any faster. While the machine does take pics of the package it will not pull one out of a group of 30,000 being sorted.
It's a shame customer service is non existiant in some company's. It's one of the #1 things that keep me coming back. One episode of poor customer service will turn me off of a company forever. One good episode will have a customer for life. To any vendors reading this, don't deny all fault before you know for sure. It's tacky. Everyone makes mistakes, its how you handle those mistakes that counts.

Greetings,

I am the owner/operator of Sunnyvaping.com. Since the OP was so nice to point out the "reason" his package was being rerouted round and round again......I feel then I have the right to say he is not being truthful here and/or was misinformed. Anytime a package is shipped out, I ACTUALLY CUT (with scissors) out the Ship To address and attach to the package. This covers me in just this case. As some might retype it or hand write and and spell something wrong or miss something. Or what the OP assumed I did was Copy/Paste. If you feel that my customer service is so poor, PLEASE do some searching online. I bend over backwards for my customers. Hell, if I have to I even take a loss to make things right when I am in the wrong. But something about your email requesting to cancel the order from the very beginning didn't sit well with me and raised a red flag for me. You have already stated that the item was shipped out in a proper time...so how is the process handling/delivery from USPS my fault...as you apparently think so.

I have just emailed you the picture of the ACTUAL piece of paper that I cut out your ship to address...note you can STILL see your phone number on it. Out of respect of you being my customer as well as me being a Vendor, I will not post this image...but I CAN share one of my invoice stacks showing the exact same pattern missing on ALL my invoices where I cut it out and attach to package if members would like to see to valid what I have stated above. Another thing I thought was odd (now funny), that if you had this image provided by the USPS showing the phone number..you would of sent it to me from the beginning. Even upon my request of it, you never sent it.

PLEASE if you still want to have your CC company protection plan get involved...please do so. The ball is in your court sir.

As far as your package taking many loops in your area...sorry to hear about this. As I know how it is to wait for vape mail. But keep in mind it is not always the vendors fault.

I ordered some posters on the 8/3 and it was sent out 8/5 to the shipping partner facility, then put in regular mail on 8/8 from TX.
I'm wondering why I haven't gotten it yet.
I went to my email and it looks like the seller did the same thing that happened to you...put my phone # at the bottom of the label under the city, state and zip code.
Nothing has ever taken this long to get to me.
This is squarely the seller's fault.
I ordered from FT on the same day and will be getting that purchase tomorrow.
I will be emailing the seller on the 15th (which would be ten days since it was sent) to let them know that I have not gotten the package yet and that there has been zero movement in the USPS tracking since it was handed over to USPS on the 8th.

And.....could they PLEASE not put my phone# on the label >_<
