Weight.... well, it largely depends on what gear you're using. Some are heavy, some not so much. If you use something like an Innokin VV3 and, say, a Kanger T3S, it can be pretty light. But if you're using a replaceable battery mod and large tank the weight will go up. You gain the ability to swap to a fresh battery on the fly (and probably a higher mAh rating as well), the ability to build to what you want, and (possibly) more liquid in the tank.
Nothing is going to be a light as a cig.

Welcome to the forum. Yeah, even back several years ago when I tried my first cig-a-like the weight was bothersome. But I adapted. The switch from cigs to vape really is an adjustment that is challenging for some folks.

Like Most Things in Life, everything is a Trade Off.
Something like a Blu is a Very Small and Light e-Cigarette. But the battery Doesn't last very long. And the Atomizer doesn't hold much e-Liquid.
What type of e-Cigarette are you using Right Now?
I prefer light also. Unfortunately that means constant recharging and refilling. So I grab the lightest I can that will get me thru most of the day.
If you don't stop vaping eventually it will be a superior experience to smoking. Patience.

It takes time to feel normal. Now a 1 pound box mod feels totally normal in my hand. But it took time. Now a cigarette between my fingers would feel bizarre.
There are some titanium mods or little tiny lipo things but as stated above you lose battery capacity for size.
Give it time. Pretty soon if you stick with it a cigarette will taste so bad the weight of a mod will be a worthy trade off. Provari makes a titanium regulated tube mod and you will pay!

Most mods are made from zinc alloy which is easy (and cheap) to manufacture. It is also relatively heavy. There are several mods out there made of plastic which are a lot lighter. Unfortunately a lot of consumers still percieve weight to equal quality. Once China realise that there is a market for lighter mods they will be made.

You can also find some mods with aluminum frames which are light and the metal finish does stand up to wear better than a painted surface. They are, however, more expensive as the zinc alloy builds are cheaper to make for a "mass market" affordable product.
Welcome to ECF. If heavyweight mods are an issue, consider an all in one, like the Juul or My Von Erl.

I felt the same way when I first started vaping and I wish I'd gone with a decent mod with features initially not needed to keep me from constantly replacing my stuff

I feel like a good mod feels better in my hand over a cigarette. I geek out on the techy stuff too and that kind of stuff comes in as size/weight. Vaping has become a hobby that replaced cigarettes. I don't "cloud chase" but I am chasing that perfect vape experience. My perfect cloud, taste, mod combo.
