Vape Raids up North?

Just came across this in yesterday's papers

What's happening, I thot Malaysia said it was "legalised" already?

Nationwide 'vaping' raids take place in Malaysia

Anybody knows what's going on up north?

They want to tax the nicotine juices

yeah, at least malaysia's decent enough to tax their nicotine, SG just bans it outright. I get that the government stands to lose out alot if they allow e ciggs to be legal since their revenue from cigg tax will dip, but wouldn't it be better if they just imposed a tax on e cigg users, im pretty sure most vapers would gladly fork out abit more if its legal

Although there is no ban on vaping.. They are raiding juices with nic content... Equipment still available... vape shops need to have license to sell nic content goods... Both ways the prata govt did the right thing... They saved the health minister's face as well as earning money when the vape shops go and redeem their confiscated goods....

I was wondering if I needed to stock up or something since Msia juice is getting swiped by the Govt.

But sounds reasonable that they should tax the juice a little bit so I guess we're alright.

Considering how economics works... In view of losing analog sin tax revenue due to vape.. They have increased the sin tax by 40%. to try to make up the lost of govt tax money. Hopefully they will soon tax ejuice with nic.. then their tax revenue will be back to normal and more. We can only wait..

These RAIDS apparently are not the first time. Its an annual thing, kinda like meeting the annual quota...and "under-table money/tax".
