As a first Mod, I'd be inclined to contradict every one and suggest a Vamo V5 or if yo can get it V2 in stainless steel (the V5 to in SS). It's not expensive, takes all sizes of 18*** batteries (non-protected, protection being the PCB in the Mod). If you decide you're more the Ego type of Vaper, or something else, it has cost you around 30$ to try. Or if you love it you can go on to a more expensive (but price isn't always equal to quality) model, with some experience and batteries too.
Do remember also it does depend on your life style. If you need something rugged, and almost unbreakable then try the new Firestone Mod, which isn't very pretty (although that is subjective) but is waterproof, drop proof, and VV/VW, as well as taking unprotected 19650 batteries, such as the Sony VTC5 mentioned higher up. These can be had from 45$ to 100$ depending where you shop. If you're likely to use it in rain (not in a swimming pool!) or work in circumstances that are not office bound, it's a good mod to check out.
I've had a Vamo V2 for nearly 2 years. It cost me 20$ and is still going strong.
My friend tends to have "accidents" with his PV's, so I'm getting him a Firestone E-LVT, which will, I hope, stand up to his daily wear and tear.
PV's are very much a subject of popularity, and people tend to swear by the Mod they use, it being the best ever made. It's so much a question of personal preference, and hard to judge which Mod, out of a lot of well made, trusworthy models, which is the best choice for someone else.
But do surf on as many online shops as you can, and take into account the length of the warranty, the price and the reputation. reviews are overflowing on Youtube, so profit from that, too.
Last of all, welcome to ECF, and happy vaping
