So I went to 4 vape shops today. The first one has no inventory and they dont know when they will have new stock. Second one was like walking into a cloud and I couldn't hardly see the inventory they had. I was talking to the guy at the counter and every 3 words he took another super huge hit off his vape and basically blew it in my face. Third store was better than the other 2 but the guy was kinda rushing me and telling me I needed the biggest most expensive thing in the shop to get any flavor as I told him I didnt need huge cloudshe said that how you get flavor. Ok so what ever. Forth store I walk into and ask a few questions and ask to look at a couple things and asked advice on stuff and he sat at his computer playing games trying to help me without moving. I asked him what a few of the juices were like and he said the guys with tanks like the big bottles and everyone else uses small 15ml bottles. He had no clue what flavors he had and I dont think he even was a vape user. He did get up once to get me a tester and it was such a pos that I couldn't even get air though it and I think the battery was dead. I guess I will order all my stuff online or check the other 2 shops in town and see if I can find some decent service. Frustrating as hell. When I first started vaping 3 weeks ago it was to stop smoking. The shop I went to was great and I just happend to go in while the owner was in town and helping out in the shop. Very nice guy and very helpful. He went back to texas or something..damn it. Soory but I thought I needed to vent. Thanks

Vaping is so new that it will take a while for the weak to fail and the strong to shine. It is also hard to compete against online discount stores. Things are changing so fast that they don't dare keep a lot of inventory on hand or risk being stuck with obsolete goods.

Hang in there and read the forums.

So sorry you had such a rough time. I'm lucky to live in an area with vape shops everywhere. One I liked the staff and atmosphere, the juice is good, but not sweet enough for me. Tried another, it was NOT ejuice being vapes, last one was so cloudy if made my eyes hurt, and everyone was a 20 something year old making fun f me for asking for coils. I was about to give up and go back to buying juice at walgreens or the convenience store, and then....lol...got a Groupon $10 for $20 for a fairly new shop. I figured I'd give it a try. HALLELUJAH!!! Lol!!!! Great staff, 99 flavors, no pressure, and my old lady self with a Kanger eVod got the same amount of attention as the cloud chuckers with gear that looks like you need a mechanic to use it. I'm a fan for life!!! They even have a bonus point system, so many $$ in purchases gets you points towards free juice. Last time I went in and restocked, and got 8 bottles to take to Cali for my son to try, they threw in 2 extra. I hope you find somewhere you can go and feel comfy with and get sme decent service. It DOES make a difference!

Its true some vape shops do suck especially here in the UK. I went to have a look round one in my town center the other day and couldn't believe some of the prices. There was a vamo v7 clone that looked like it was from fasttech judging from the box and it was being sold for £50! that around $80 USD.

This is why i always buy my vape gear online.

So as far as questions. I have an arctic tank on my invader mini that I setup for work. I have it working great but would like a little more flavor. I was told by one shop to use a lower vg juice and another shop said I should use a higher vg. What is the correct answer? Also, can the coils be rebuilt on the prebuilt or is there an rba for it? At home I use mt smok m80 with either my tugboat or mutation x v2. Both are built with a single 24g kanthal 7 wrap coil. I like the flavor but would be open to others ideas for builds that would be better. Im not a cloud chucker but its fun to do once in awhile. Im definitely more for good flavor. Thanks

You can probably use the rba sega tank deck to rebuild with the Arctic since it works in the Atlantis and the Arctic can use Atlantis coils.

As far as flavor, pg carries flavor better, vg sweetens and mutes flavors a bit. But too much pg will be rough especially when subohming.

Maybe with an rba you could try a twisted coil for more flavor or a lower ohm for more power to create more flavor.

My heart kind of goes out to our local vape shops. I am an old duck, but reasonably educated on things that interest me so sometimes the youngsters get a kick out of it:) one local shop is very well stocked, another I go to because it is the only one I know that sells my adv, another because they have the fanciest juice ( but I try not to buy - did weaken and buy dripper juice @ 3 mg very tasty-very expensive) the fancy juice place has a high priced dated provari that I don't purchase but dream about. one had a sweet lad who sold me the best dripper with flat head screws and big holes for my eye sight -bless his heart. it really is a great dripper.

the number of vape shops has sky rocketed here and they are under a lot of pressure with the stupid a.. law that you can't test the juice even in a vape shop.

so much more could be done, all the shops have made some effort to teach me but I do have to admit I. have sought out a better understanding by doing lots of research.

I guess I can say our shops seem to be trying - none sell do it yourself re juice making I think if I owned a shop I would put more effort in to teaching people how to DIY and try to make it a social gathering place I guess I would give most of our places a c+ to a B I think it is a pretty tough gig at the moment:(

Caro, I wonder if vape shops could set up a "private club" room for vaping where you would just issue membership cards to customers and they could sample juice in the other room?
make it officially a social private club?
yep I think that is the way the province sold it to the vape shop owners when they said no vaping in the shop . personally I think it is a great idea - hoping they will let me play my old fashion country guitar - but I suspect it will be an issue for some of the places who don't have much room
I am curious to see where all this goes. Some of the shops seem to have good money backers others I suspect struggle. I never did hang around bars much but I could see myself hanging around a vape shop especially if the coffee was good and the stories were funny - personally I'd also like a little patsy cline country guitar too:)

On your artic tank which coils are you using .6 or .2, imo the .6 are better for flavor and overall life and if you want to rebuild them good luck as they are the dual bottom coils.

I can understand that. I have been through six vape shops around where I live, and only one I would recommend to new users. Here's my take on the shops near me.

One builds their own mods, and mainly carries only authentic. Helpful, but their selection was limited, and they seem to be geared only towards RBAs.
Another has one good salesman in the group. When I was looking at a mini mod, he recommended one to me, said he personally disliked another, and the shop owner berated him for his opinions. Personally, I already came to the same conclusion before I heard his. They keep their dogs in line, and the two times I bought their own brand of juice, their juice tasted horrible.
A third had limited stock, and the service person knew nothing about vaping. To give some credit to them, it was the owner's daughter, and she didn't vape.
Another was ran by someone not too knowlegable except for what he had. He had all the "gimmicky" things, like atomizers with lights, and some odd stuff that I haven't seen before.

The one I do recommend, has a seperate spot for beginners, and another for the more experienced vapers. The owners pride themselves on getting people to stop smoking over selling cloud chasing devices. Even though they don't have the highest quantity of items, they do have a variety for different types of vapers. Their mech mod person is down to earth, as well as the owners. I've heard them not recommend plunging a lot of money into a mod (sigeli 100), and suggest going with a good brand mini type (Istick 20 which recently came out) that would better suit their needs. I wish that shop was near you.

Personally, I'm not quite sure how B&M stores that offer some types of products can possibly ever survive. When it comes to vaping products, the business plan seems to be "gouge the customer as much as possible while they are here as we'll never see them again".

Granted, I would expect to pay a premium at at B&M over what Amazon might be charging. So if the B&M is offering something for $30 I might expect to see the same item on Amazon for +$20. (gee only a ~50% mark up!) Or I'd expect the B&M to come close to the MSRP.

The first shop I came across is kinda hit/miss. Some of the workers are knowledgeable, others seeming just want to cloud up the entire store. The pricing and quality of their 'house juice' was reasonable enough, however a few days after I got home with my new 'starter kit' that I paid $49.95 for, I found the same exact kit online for $19.95.

While I'm still grateful for them steering me in a decent direction when I started it is rather doubtful that they will get any more business from me.

Considering the cost of having 'workers' and rent on retail space, I can't imagine them staying in business for very long.
