Maybe a restraining order or some sort of police intervention is needed here.

Nah, I texted him back to call the husband and I got a bunch of expletives I recognized, so I'm pretty sure it's the ex. I thought about responding but then I thought "I have so may documents that have my DOB on them, like my son's birth certificate, my marriage certificate, my divorce decree.... " LOL.

Also, after texting my son, he was all like, "Eh, every time I think of calling my dad I think it's a bad idea, and can I come visit soon, I miss you and I need a vacation."

Hopefully he will figure out the passport thing (still don't understand the DOB thing) and leave, and never return.

Oh believe me I thought to myself, should I try to help this person in any way and then I was like, "Nope."

I am not in a small town but I agree did scary to think about. What if someone does pop in your back seat. I'm usually good with licking the door but this day I guess I was focused on getting out the rain.

I’m the same way, hate getting soaked. And always put my cart in the coral. But like I said, I normally drive the truck, but even if I have the car, I put my bags in the back end. So I don’t unlock my door to load the groceries.

Back in the Pinto days a bottle of bleach leaked, so I never put stuff in the seats anymore lol.

Cars are mechanisms. If the parts are in the right place and in reasonable condition it will work. If they’re not, it won’t. Wear happens. Often though it can be contagious. Wear on one part that becomes out of spec sometimes creates wear on another part. Sometimes it doesn’t. It’s situational. You may be well served to take an interest in the ins and outs of your particular model. Frequently a particular model is prone to problems in one area but is more robust in another. Knowing what to watch for will allow you to at least plan for future repairs. Sometimes cheap preventative maintainance can prevent or delay costly later problems.
I try. My biggest problem is they no longer make my vehicle. So I've done a little research. Rick auto for example had some parts. iff I get anything done I usually get serving opinion and research getting the oats for the job first. But honestly I know bare minimum about cars. So Google is my friend as much as I can use it. I've been slowly looking into a new car but I'm waiting until I must.

I have top unlock the car even to put them in the trunk. So that's a bummerI this car. But funny story I had bleach in my back seat in the floor. Ex throws it in the trunk didn't check if it wad tightly sneaked and bleached everything in my trunk. Hence ex. lol

I would stay clear of that one. He sounds like he's up to something and no good things are to come.

There are generally used parts available for all but the rarest cars from junkyards. They’re not always of good quality though they generally are or they wouldn’t be put up for sale. Of course the parts most likely to break on a given model will also usually be the rarest. Most cars also die from front end collisions, so front bumpers, radiators, and headlights and such are also usually harder to get. As replacement vehicles go, traditionally the best value transportation car (vs resale) generally goes two ways. If you’re reasonably handy, You can buy a total piece of trash for barely more than it’s metal weight in value, hold it together with spit and bubblegum for 6 months or so, then when it’s on it’s last legs but still barely able to move, drive it to a wrecking yard and sell it for almost what you paid for it.
The other one is to buy a used car no less than three years old with good mechanicals and body damage. Every used car there is was sold for a reason. SOMETHING (generally something expensive) is broken. Body damage is expensive to fix and looks awful, but generally doesn’t affect the running of the vehicle. Maximum transportation for minimum money.
