i usually use 32 gauge awg kanthal on a zmax but if i sub ohm a bit i use 28 gauge after wrapping the wick i use tweezers to "close it together and release the tweezers and it's always evenly spaced if i want to be sure that wires are not touching the positive post i sneak a thin pin under the positive post and push the wire away from the post this makes it easier for me than to tweek it from above

i think its the e juice stuck along the atomizer cap inner wall that's causing the warmth of the vape especially if you chain vape the coil heats up the oil and cap i just wash the cap in running water dry with paper towel and its cool again i like cool vapes
