does anyone vape without a cart in the mouthpiece? im trying it by just dripping the atomiser and using an empty mouth piece. Seems to get alot more vapour this way, granted, its no good if your on the go because it means topping up often.

Mike.......I drip myself,usually dedicating 1 or 2 atomizers for that purpose only( as it has been known to decrease the life of the atomizer).my other atomizers I use with carts,like you said,easier for on the go!

I'd guess (ballpark) about 80% of this forum drips at least once in a while. I drip 100% of the time since I don't trust the fumes from a burning cartridge filler.
i usually drip 1 or 2 drops into the atomizer when i top off my cart.. i don't know if this counts as official "dripping" or not... ha ha
I think you are missing what he's asking. I believe he is refering to taking your draw directly from the atomizer without a cart being on it. I have done this a few times, but usualy only after cleaning an atomizer and want to get it fired up faster.
I usually at least put in a cart with no polyester in it. This stops most of the big drips from coming straight through the moughpiece and burning out the back of my throat. At first, I was doing it the same way op was asking about, and wondering why my throat was getting so sore. I think you definitely want some kind of barrier between you and the atomizer.
I've tried dripping with a cart attached but no filler in it.
For me, I just wasn't getting the vapor I needed and find that a cart helps... One to two drips on the cart, same on the atomizer and I'm good to go for a while.

I vape alot without a cart, I get a good throat hit, which is really what I search for, that I find it the most satisfying
as long as I do not burn my lips I think it works very well
thats ok then,,,i was thinking maybe i was turning into somesort of e cig junky trying to getting a quicker fix,,,,,i feel much better knowing im not alone

I'd liken it to putting my mouth directly on the tail pipe of a car, minus the 'it'll kill you' stuff. I'm a hard hitter, and that atomizer got a little hot for comfort

Unless you're using a giant cart like a Penstyle or Dura, carts are worthless. Dripping is the way to go with smaller e-cigs. 901/401 carts are absolute garbage and I honestly don't know how people are actually satisfied by them.
I find that direct dripping on the 901 is the best way to do it. Better vapor and more consistent. I also do the "tail pipe method" sometimes. Get a drop on the end of whatever you're using (squeeze bottle, eyedropper), and 'place' it directly on the atomizer mesh thing, repeat 3 times for best results.
