Ok, so the General came home today and told me that her juice was tasting burnt. I looked at it and saw it was pretty empty. We refilled it and I let it sit. I tried it and it was indeed burnt. I changed to a new coil and she said its better.

Ok- so did she burn the old wicks causing the burnt taste? If so is there anything you can do about it? I tried washing them and dry burning and it still tasted burnt, just not as bad.

Any input would be great.

Thanks!

I guess that would make you a major? She's in charge of GENERAL affairs, while you're in charge of MAJOR affairs.

Did you rinse after dry burning? There may still be "ashes" from the dry burn on the wick. Some users can't taste it but others do. After dry burning, submerge the head in a bowl of water and tap on the head. You may see ashes in the water.

LMAO! How true!!

No, I sure didn't rinse it after dry burning it. Those BDC heads are a pain because it's hard to see in the top hole at how the coil is doing. I will rinse it out again and let it dry.

I'm a new member and wanted to post a question regarding the same clearomizer head...I have an Aspire CE5-S (same clearo) --- I got a couple weeks ago. Initially - and between issues - this thing works awesome for me. But it has two issues that are extremely frustrating for me, so much so that I put it away for a week in lieu of my iClear 16 fleet.

1) The unit floods to the point of liquid making its way up into my mouth, and settling throughout the tip/tube. This happens after less than a day of use, every time I get it working.

2) To address this issue, I picked up another coil head. This coil head doesn't work at all!!! To verify everything else was in order, I totally cleaned (with isopropyl alcohol and then hot water, left to air dry) the other pieces. The clearo still works with the old coil head. If I change to the new coil head, without fail, the CE5-S doesn't work at all.

Simple solution would be returning/replacing the coil again. But my store is not close to home. Your collective knowledge is appreciated in this... What can I do to the coil head to "fix" it or what can I check inside? I find this clearo needs a good several minutes of soaking before using a dry coil head. But this coil head isn't heating up at al
