So irritated right now! I guess there was a fire at my school last week, some smoker didn't put out their cigarette fully and it caught a storage bin on fire. Anyway, this was included in the email:

Smoking and tobacco use are prohibited in all Community Colleges of Spokane facilities and motor pool vehicles with no exception.

(1) Smoking and tobacco use are also prohibited:

(a) Within twenty-five feet of entrances, exits, windows that open, and ventilation intakes that serve an enclosed area where smoking and tobacco use are prohibited; and

(b) Where designated on college premises.

(2) "Smoking" means:

(a) Inhaling, exhaling, burning, carrying or possessing any lighted tobacco product, including cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco, and any other lit tobacco products; or

(b) Use of electronic nicotine delivery devices including, but not limited to, electronic cigarettes, vapor cigarettes, or similar products.

I don't get why in the heck you have to be in a designated area when using an electronic cigarette! I mean hello, ELECTRONIC means no flame! Its extremely inconvenient for me to have to go find a "designated smoking area" and down right impossible when there is snow on the ground since I am in a wheelchair! I have always gone right outside, 25 feet away from the door and security has never said anything to me and now some ..... ruined it by being careless and not making sure his cigarette was fully put out. Grrrr!!!!

I wouldn't personally pay any attention to those rules since it makes no sense for you who is in a wheelchair to have to go outside to vape. I would continue to vape in my room, a bathroom or stealthily any and every where until someone complains.
Has this rule/law been passed at the state level yet?

Send an email to board@casaa.org and see if they feel they can help.

They are really busy these days I'm sure, and they are an entirely volunteer organization.
I only could wish that we as a vaping community could fund them in a way that allows them freedom to act on all issues.

Certainly joining CASAA is a quick and easy step towards extending their legitimacy...

That costs nothing, but it adds your voice to the movement.

And if you are so inclined, then donating what you can is helpful for all of us...

Someday soon I hope to be able to join the fray in a much more meaningful way.
But I'd have to retire first.

Yes, apparently its included in the Washington State Administrative Code (WAC 132Q-30-231). I have never payed attention to the Smoking Prohibited except in designated areas signs be cause I'm not smoking, I'm vaping. Until yesterday that is, when I got the email. I have always been respectful though and gone 25 feet away from the entrance to the building, but its ridiculous, its VAPOR.

Will do. Thank you!

I understand how you feel - New Jersey added electronic cigarettes to the smoking ban act, and so e-cigarettes are not allowed in any public place, nor are they allowed in public parks (outside) which is truly ridiculous. I work in a public schools, so vaping there is a double no-no. But you can do what I do and have been doing for a while now.

Go into the bathroom to vape. The vapor is mostly odorless (unless it smells faintly of fruit or waffles, or whatever you are vaping), it disappears in a matter of seconds, it will not set off any smoke alarms, and honestly, no one will know that you are doing it at all. I smoke in my work bathroom every single day, and no one has ever caught on. Without the tell-tale smell, or the fire alarms going off, who the heck would ever know?? I say, go for it!! Its unenforceable if its undetectable.

Hang in there bro, rock that MBV wherever u want, the hell with those {edit} ...life can really suck, especially so if we keep having to adhere to all these {edit} rules/laws...if I were u (first of all I'd be "stealthing" it inside) I'd continue to do exactly what you have been, if anyone calls u on it, just be polite and rational...don't let this bring u down
