I live in Richmond and work in NOVA/DC. I do the drive every day, and folks, it ain't all that far.
The worst part of the drive is the :evil:traffic:evil: in Northern Virginia. I-95 becomes a linear parking lot from all the volume. As a general rule, from the Beltway to Dumfries in the afternoon sucks big ones. Especially Dumfries where the HOV ends and all those people who don't know how are actually expected to merge back onto I-95. Typically gets better till you approach Exit 130 in Fredericksburg, but after that it's pretty much smooth sailing ( although, avoid the right hand lane until you pass Exit 126, the off ramp tends to back up there). Not long after that, the new 70MPH speed limit kicks in and you'll be in Richmond in less than an hour (unless NASCAR is going on, then all bets are off). Over 80 is still a Reckless Driving offense if you're caught, so be careful!
As a bonus incentive for any of you 'coaster fanatics out there, you'll be passing right by King's Dominion on your way down.
The time of day makes all the difference between 1.5 to 2 hour drive and a 5 hour ordeal.

Damn, I started this "novel" hoping to make it not seem so bad. Not sure if that's the case:blush:

As long as the drive is done between 1:00am and 4:00am, its a piece of cake!!! hahah!

Psyched! Less than 10 minutes from home. It's on my cal & I'll be there! Looks like a great line up of vendors. Shout out to Gourmet Vapor for mentioning it in tonight's e. (Didn't know)

Grimmgreen, thanks for making this happen! Look forward to saying hey.

Amy

Yes, awesome line-up of vendors! Submitted my request for that Friday off yesterday... saving money to blow at the Con... best part: quality supplies and NO shipping charges!

Hey all. I just heard about this from GV email as well and would really like to go. Can anyone whose been to one of these tell me about it? I mean what actually happens besides a lot of vaping? I will probably go if they just have different juices to try before you buy, but if anyone can give me an idea of what to expect? Richmond's a pretty easy drive from here...

tons of vaping, tons of hanging out, tons of socializing, and tons of taste testing both juice and new devices. for the most part if there is something you want to test out someone there will have it. you also get to see all the insane devices people make in their spare time that never make it out to the general public. good times.
