I'll be there! I just booked my flights and room. There was no room at the inn (so to speak) at the block rate (and the idiot reservations clerk didn't mention the possibility of any other rate). But Expedia was able to get me in to the Clarion ... at $100/night.
[Before I discovered the Expedia option, I researched other hotels in the area. I couldn't find any with decent reviews, other than in downtown Richmond. And this way, I don't have to rent a car to get back and forth.]
Speaking of that room rate, I have a double (queen beds) and I would love to cut that rate in half. Anyone up for being my roommate? [Either gender actually. Remember two beds ... and I am a gentleman.] Only downside is that it is a smoking room, so there may be that telltale odor - it'll bring back memories.
Hope to see a lot of you there! [It is my first vaping convention (fest, con, whatever) and I am pumped! Thank you, Nick, for putting this together!
[Guess I'll have to buy a smoking jacket, long cigarette holder*, and a fake mustache for the Halloween Party.]
UPDATE: I have located a roommate. A boyfriend/girlfriend couple actually ... and from my post on that other forum. [We agreed not to hold that against each other.
] So they and I can now say to those who paid the $59 VaperCon block rate: Na, na, na, na, na! [Only teasing, of course.;-)]
I still need to borrow that Gooseneck for Saturday evening, however. I've ordered the costume and makeup, but I've got to complete the look.

I'm so looking forward to this.. Being able to touch, taste and feel stuff before you by wiil be great. I'm also looking forward to learning alot.

EDIT: WOH is unable to put her trip together, so there is still a $50 queen size bed available ... and a nonsmoking roommate (even though it is a "smoking room"). [Clarification: I wouldn't object if my roommate uses those "fake" cigarettes. I hear that they don't really produce smoke, just vaporized antifreeze ... or something like that.]

WOW! Don's coming!! I have a feeling that the turn out for this is going to be H-U-G-E , I know for sure there are going to be some amazing giveaways, and plenty of "specials" from Vendors , I have it on good word that Atsmoke will be bringing some very cool gear including Vapercon exclusive items

- I hope the meeting room is large enough.
- Any way you or one of your cohorts could spearhead a room-sharing effort? [I'm doing it for myself, of course. And I see other individuals attempting it on that other forum. But a coordinated effort could help.]
- Most important: Are you sure that the Clarion bar will be sufficiently stocked and staffed with bartenders?

I am looking forward to this...just, kinda bouncing off the walls thinking about it. Just chose vaping back in August. Had only been smoking for three years, but even though I enjoyed it, my body kept reminding me what I was gradually doing to myself. Now, I'm just overwhelmed (in a good way) with all the flavors and everything about vaping!
And, I haven't met anyone who vapes. Everybody at my college just gives me weird looks or fake-coughs. It will be so refreshing to be at the Vapercon, making new friends, trying new flavors and gadgets galore! Not sure what to wear for the Halloween event, but I'm just jumping for joy, thinking of everything else.

Just as a quick update were %99 moving it to OCTOBER 21st and 22nd , due to a rather large Jewish holiday happening on October 7th. Locations are still being negotiated as we speak, with a possibility of it moving closer to DC!!

Just in case you don't know, Richmond is an excellent are to hold this Vape Con. The largest city in Virginia is actually Virginia Beach. Norfolk, Virginia Beach and 5 more cities comprise an area called Hampton Roads. Our area is larger than the DC area. Richmond is 1.5 hrs from Hampton Roads and about 2 hrs from the DC area.
I'm so excited to be able to hang out with other vapers. I've never even seen another vaper "in the wild!"
OMG! I'm so glad I just saw this! I just moved back to VA a few months ago, and i'm about 50 miles from Richmond! I hope I can get there at least for a bit around work.
Edit: I misread the dates, I thought it would be sat and sunday, but it's friday and sat which i'm off Friday and I can at least go for a day! W000000000000T!!!!!!!!!

That's what I'm doing. I couldn't get saturday off, but I will be there on Friday.
