Vaperev Stingray and hybrid cap

Calling all Stingray owners,
I bought an original phantom brass some time ago now from Vaperev. Fast forward to now they have hybrid caps for the Stingray. I bought one... It doesn't work...

The hybrid cap will not screw on any of my body tubes. All my tubes screw together no prob. I checked my tubes for any burrs or gunk or deformations, I checked the threads of the hybrid cap for any burrs or gunk or deformations, nada. After a few turns the cap seizes up.

Any others had this experience?

I emailed Vaperev asking them also. Will keep all posted on what they say.

Meanwhile, anyone?

It only works on the 2014 phantom brass stingray.

If that's true why does it state on the Vaperev site, "works with all genuine Stingray mods"?

Wow... If that's true - I'm ....... It absolutely says it works with all genuine stingray mods... Now potentially more concerning... Did they sell me a clone?

I almost tried cranking it on with pliers... Good thing I didn't do that or they'd be giving me a free Stingray.

I wouldn't think it could be a clone. Vaperev is a pretty big time and well-known seller of high-end products.

For whatever reason the threading is different on the OG PB stingray. It works on the copper, black copper and 2014 PB.

Got an email back and yes indeed the adapter does not work with the OG. Bummer. I'm going to have to return it for refund. They were of course very polite about it as usual so that's good. They did say they knew it was an issue though - they should put this info on the site.

Silver lining though - I have an original stingray. That's pretty cool. Kind of a lame way to find out.

Anyone know how many serial numbers were issued for the original?

Never thought of trying that. I have both Stingrays.
