The forum is set up to automatically filter out any words that we feel are inappropriate. (You certainly can guess what they are). Our experience is that folks want to come to a forum to be part of an environment that doesn't resemble a bar brawl @ 2am. As you can see by our consistently growing membership, the vaping public agrees with us.

Just a note: Please do NOT substitute symbols in place of letter to mimic a profanity. This is known as "Evading forum censor to use offensive language" and is a violation of ECF rules. Go ahead any type the actual word you want to say. If it isn't OK then it will be edited out automatically and you haven't violated any rules. When people try to get around the editor is when they run afoul of the rules.

I visit and chat everyday with the folk in ECF chat...they're the friends i'll probably never meet. We have converstaions about e-cigs and everything else under the sun. The moderators are there 24/7 and join in appropriately. The information in this chat room is enormous. There are several other forums you can join..i'm sure 1 or more will suit you. Congrats on vaping ..take care and stay well!!!

My late father once told me it was a sign of an uneducated person. Something like "lack of knowledge" or similar idea.
I don't know if this is accurate or not, but it certainly seems to be an indicator for something. I looked at that site once and decided I wasn't interested. Granted, I read some informative info there, but had to sift through way too much trash and filth to find it.

I am most grateful for this ECF forum. I have learned a tremendous amout of info on vaping and continue to learn more all the time. This forum is quite an accomplisment when compared to the vast selection of fourms on the net.
My thanks to all the people who work diligently to keep this place "respectable". :thumb:

Blah, blah, blah........bad boys and girls need a place to hang out also and VF is this place for them and they are certainly profane and earthy but what is wrong with that? For the most part they felt uncomfortable here (or got booted!!!) but what is one person's tea is another person's piss IMO. Yeah, they rail against the uptight ECF rules (and moderators, right El and Angus?!?!?!) but this place is for the soccer-mom crowd, VF (and a couple others) are for the strip bar crowd, and I feel at ease in both. Personally, I like using profanity, and how it emphasizes your thoughts better than normal words, its the way my father, my grandfathers, and my peers have spoken their whole lives and don't offend me to tell me what you think is morally right, I hate proselytizing and that's why they changed the 'New Posts' tab because others felt the same way. I hate hate hate the holier than thou attitude I get from some.....I'm going off on a tangent now, sorry!!!:vapor:

That being said, I think the mods do a great job here and have said so on all forums......

I don't think profanity denotes a lack of intelligence at all. It is more about courtesy and being mindful of what others may or may not be comfortable with. With some exceptions, of course, I would venture to say that most of us use profanity at least on occasion. The difference is we wouldn't walk into someone's living room and start swearing until we we comfortable with that person and knew that it was acceptable to them to converse in that manner.

Very true. My coworkers are very well aware that I'm prolific at dropping the f-bomb, but that stops when dealing with clients and certain other coworkers who I know wouldn't appreciate it. I've thought about joining the VF, but haven't pulled the trigger. I like it here, I feel comfortable and that I'm doing something to help others.

just for the record...

not EVERYONE at VF has a "hate-on" for ecf... the thing to understand over there is that the majority of us no longer NEED the details and information about vaping... most of us have been doing this a long time.. and are MAINLY interested in the SOCIAL aspects involved with our forum..

ECF was a great starting point for most of us.. and not too long ago it was a much more loose place that some of us miss from time to time.. and even STILL has it's place in the vaping community for those not quite ready for the "wild west" ways of VF..

just remember though... elendil's comment about "walk into someone's living room and start swearing", while true, doesn't fit because, well... it's the owner of the living room that's doing the swearing.. if you don't like it.. don't come in.. simple solution :)

contrary to belief.. VF is a rather OVERLY loving family.. and we are comfortable with each other.. JUST like alot of you HERE are.. we are a family where ALL are welcome.. but not everyone wants to beb a part of... and that's all good.. because ALL that matters is that we are part of the LARGER community of vapers

PS: if any of that didn't make sense.. my apologies.. i'm rather tired and hung over and not sure if i'm making sense... love ya's
