just remember though... elendil's comment about "walk into someone's living room and start swearing", while true, doesn't fit because, well... it's the owner of the living room that's doing the swearing.. if you don't like it.. don't come in.. simple solution :)

Yep, and in this living room we don't. It works both ways:)

just for the record...

not EVERYONE at VF has a "hate-on" for ecf... the thing to understand over there is that the majority of us no longer NEED the details and information about vaping... most of us have been doing this a long time.. and are MAINLY interested in the SOCIAL aspects involved with our forum..

ECF was a great starting point for most of us.. and not too long ago it was a much more loose place that some of us miss from time to time.. and even STILL has it's place in the vaping community for those not quite ready for the "wild west" ways of VF..

just remember though... elendil's comment about "walk into someone's living room and start swearing", while true, doesn't fit because, well... it's the owner of the living room that's doing the swearing.. if you don't like it.. don't come in.. simple solution :)

contrary to belief.. VF is a rather OVERLY loving family.. and we are comfortable with each other.. JUST like alot of you HERE are.. we are a family where ALL are welcome.. but not everyone wants to beb a part of... and that's all good.. because ALL that matters is that we are part of the LARGER community of vapers

PS: if any of that didn't make sense.. my apologies.. i'm rather tired and hung over and not sure if i'm making sense... love ya's

I think most folks think it's great there are as many forums as there are for our community.

Diversity is an excellent attribute.

Yes, VF can be a bit harsh. The moderators over there need to lay down the forum rules better and harsher; however, I can still get some good information there and sales posted are a bit easier to find.

the moderators and admin (that'd be me as one of them) do an excellent job of enforcing the rules over there....

you'd need to read those rules to understand :)

Wow i just stummbled on to the vapers forum there are alot of mad people there. Maybe i'm to old or something, but members using the f word in every post fighting arguing wow that place just dose not feel comfortalbe. Maybe it's just me but i got out of there.I think i'll just stay here were I feel comfortable. Thanks ECF members.
I thought that Vapers Forum was a "censored " phrase. Glad to see that has at least changed.

The forum is set up to automatically filter out any words that we feel are inappropriate. (You certainly can guess what they are). Our experience is that folks want to come to a forum to be part of an environment that doesn't resemble a bar brawl @ 2am. As you can see by our consistently growing membership, the vaping public agrees with us.

Just a note: Please do NOT substitute symbols in place of letter to mimic a profanity. This is known as "Evading forum censor to use offensive language" and is a violation of ECF rules. Go ahead any type the actual word you want to say. If it isn't OK then it will be edited out automatically and you haven't violated any rules. When people try to get around the editor is when they run afoul of the rules.
There's plenty of growth at ALL e-cig forums. OUR experience is that different people like their info presented in different ways.

I really hope that the forum bashing is not going to start all over again...the ones of us that lived through it the first time do not really want it all over again. Hopefully the admin.mods here will do there part here to keep that from happening and not encourage the difference of opinions?

My late father once told me it was a sign of an uneducated person. Something like "lack of knowledge" or similar idea.
I don't know if this is accurate or not, but it certainly seems to be an indicator for something. I looked at that site once and decided I wasn't interested. Granted, I read some informative info there, but had to sift through way too much trash and filth to find it.

I am most grateful for this ECF forum. I have learned a tremendous amout of info on vaping and continue to learn more all the time. This forum is quite an accomplisment when compared to the vast selection of fourms on the net.
My thanks to all the people who work diligently to keep this place "respectable". :thumb:

I don't think profanity denotes a lack of intelligence at all. It is more about courtesy and being mindful of what others may or may not be comfortable with. With some exceptions, of course, I would venture to say that most of us use profanity at least on occasion. The difference is we wouldn't walk into someone's living room and start swearing until we we comfortable with that person and knew that it was acceptable to them to converse in that manner.
If you've been invited into that living room being told that foul language is not a problem, then where's the issue? And thank you Elendil for the "intelligence" defense...I'm willing to test IQs with anyone that still believe that

I can curse enough to make a sailor blush. Must be all the time I spent in the military. But there's a time and a place for my "harsh language." The forum is not the place at any time. I save it for my blogs and private communications with friends.
In this forum no, but other people have other preferences. i know many that will use profanity in a forum, but not on their blogs...see how that works?

Yep, and in this living room we don't. It works both ways:)
I didn't see Tauk question that. Your house, your rules. Our house...

Absolutely. My comments were directed at the use of profanity in general and not how it applies to "here" or "there".............
Again, I REALLY hope this "here" and :there" BS doesn't start up again. When it comes up at VF it is usually someone that is disgruntled at the way things were handled here. Most get banned either permanently or temporarily, many without knowing why or with any way to state their case since they've been banned, hence no way of communicating with the admin/mod taking the action (I can speak for this first hand...and second......won't go into the details out of respect, but the ridiculousness of it just made me laugh). My point being that when it does come up "over there", we generally just let them vent and encourage them to not return here if this is not what they want.

And anyone stating that there is a "lack of information" has not bothered going past the book's cover. I am willing to bet that the same exact info that you find here is posted at VF as well.
