CASAA has learned that tomorrow, Wednesday, October 23rd, the Arts, Parks, Health, Aging and River Committee on the Los Angeles City Council will hold a special meeting on e-cigarettes and other topics. This meeting will be held at 8:30 AM in Room 1010 of City Hall (200 North Spring Street in Los Angeles).


We need vapers in the Los Angeles area to attend and speak! Councilman Paul Koretz has proposed to either enact a moratorium on the sale of e-cigarette sales in new stores or to extend current tobacco laws in Los Angeles to e-cigarettes.


If attending, please sign up to speak upon arrival (there should be a card to fill out). Please testify to the benefits of e-cigarettes and in opposition to both the moratorium and the proposal to treat e-cigarettes like all tobacco products. Make sure to point out that California law already bans e-cigarette sales to minors!

The next meeting of the Lakewood City Council will take place on Monday, October 28 at 7:00 PM. While the proposed vaping is not yet on the agenda, it's possible that it could be added. Regardless, this is an excellent opportunity for a Los Angeles / Long Beach-area vaper to bring truthful information to the members of the Lakewood City Council
