I'm glad I started DIY-ing using VT.

Being a noob, it can take many iterations of a recipe before I get it down to what I want. I also mix my juice nic-less first, adjust the flavoring, then add nic.

The awesome thing about VT for me as that the juice tastes exactly as how it was before I added the nic. Def saves a lot of frustration for someone new to DIY.

I was using another very popular vendor's nic for a little bit. Spent ages tweaking till it's find, then added the nic and boom. Tastes off again. I probably would've thrown in the hat on DIY if I had to stick to that brand.

You also have the curse it seems :)

When I started the nicotine comparisons thread people thought I was nuts...nicotine is nicotine...they all taste the same...they all taste like nothing...nicotine never influences the flavor of a mix...blah blah. All complete and utter bullshhht.

It just took a little time for me to have some company in the realms of sanity ;)

Vaper's Tek is the cleanest of the clean as far as I am aware right now, its my all day, even as an unflavored man.

And I also never meant to pick on VT nic I am just an unlucky taster:oops: and after making a few flavors (newbie at DIY) I agree that compared to the first nic I bought it is tasteless:p

You also need to know that Drew over at Bull City is a very nice person and if I implied that wasn't so please know I never intended it:unsure:

Hi Kevin,

I want to report on an ongoing test comparison I'm running on four liquid nics: Vaperstek "regular," Vaperstek "gamey," WizardLabs regular, and HeartlandVapes. I've mixed up small bottles of pure, unflavored VG using each of the four nics at 12mg/ml concentration. Every so often I sample them back-to-back by dripping into an old-school 2.2 ohm Joyetech standard 510 atomizer powered by a VAMO set to 9 watts. I blow out the atty after each sample.

I'm checking for color, flavor, and impact.

In terms of color, your regular nic is the closest to colorless. Next is your "gamey" nic, which has only the slightest tinge of gold when mixed. Next is WizardLabs, and finally Heartland, both of which have a definite golden hue.

For flavor, the order is the same. Your regular nic is the most neutral in that the sample tastes like VG, and your "gamey" nic is close to that. Both the WizardLabs and Heartland samples seem to color the VG slightly with a taste that I can describe only as slightly "tobacco-like." All four easily pass muster for my palate.

My assessment of impact is in reverse order. WizardLabs and Heartland carry the strongest impact, followed by your "gamey" version, and then VT regular, which are smoother and a touch more mild. The difference is subtle rather than obvious, however. All four have the definite impact of nicotine. In juices mixed with other flavorings, I'm not sure I'd perceive any noticeable or significant difference in impact.

I do find myself reaching for either of your Vaperstek nics---regular or gamey---when mixing DIY juices. Other than color, I don't experience much difference between them. My conclusions are only haphazard and anecdotal so far, but it does seem that other flavorings come through more truly and perhaps stronger with the VT nics.

I intend to set up three other four-bottle tests---one set each for a dessert flavor, a fruit flavor, and a natural tobacco extract---to check out the transparency in masking or altering other flavors. I'll report on that after it happens.

Ok first I want to say that I am a supertaster UGH - which means that I can taste things that most do not notice. I sent for a Nude Nicotine 15ml sample of 18mg nic base and then Kevin sent me more Vapers Tek, which I mixed to 20mg nic base. I just taste tested them using the same 2 Kangertech Evod clearomizers but different colors. To my taste buds Nude was less peppery - but and this is a big but Vapers Tek was barely more peppery. Which means they both are good enough for me.:toast:

Thanks bill.
I figure for $60 a litre it really is a great deal.

Best deal going without question. Not that your regular nic isn't a good deal---it is---but sixty simoleons for a liter of your gamey nic is a heck of a bargain.

If I were stranded on a desert island, either VT regular or VT gamey would make me a very happy Robinson Crusoe, assuming I had about 10,000 charged-up batteries and an ample supply of VG, tobacco extracts, and other flavorings. LOL.

Having tried another nic on sale - and it being not vapable to me - far too peppery and changed the taste of my ADV considerably- I am very much interested in trying Vapers Tek nic! I saw the sale on the "Gamey" but thinking I may need to steer clear of that deal - Is the regular Nic truly flavorless? Or at least mild to no peppery taste? I couldn't care less about throat hit - if it was completely absent, I wouldn't mind!

Thanks in advance for any insight! Hoping good news so I can try out VT nic from the many positive reviews I have read. Of course coming late to the party - I just missed the sale lol

Was scouring the DIY forum and I noticed folks seemingly confusing the lack of peppery burn with lack of throathit

As far as my experience goes, the VT nic has baaaarely any peppery burn at all, but still has a nice amount of throathit. Definitely more subdued than other brands, but it's def still there, which I actually prefer at my usual 6mg.

Question for customers, or possible customers. Would you be more apt
To buy if I had lower nicotine strengths, not just custom strength ... And what would you want?
The reason I ask is because I have tons of custom strength orders, but I have many asking for lower levels, most of them order the higher custom strength.
Thank you,
Kevin

My answer probably isn't too helpful, since I already buy my nic from you! I will only buy 100mg/ml, which you already have!

I think that it's because there are of ton of vapers out there warning about handling a high % nicotine.
They freak the new guys out, telling them they could die if they get it on them.
Don't know what happened to common sense, but by using scare tactics, they make believers out of them.
They only make juice at 12%, and don't want too,.. or know how to,.. handle such a high %, especially when it can "make you sick"

I'm a potential customer. I would definitely buy if it weren't 100mg. I'm sure all the DIY vets will think I'm silly (and I'm ok with that =P), but I simply don't want to play with nic that potent, nor have it in my house.

Can I buy 6 or 12mg?
