this morning i wake up to find 6 emails from a website/email address ive never heard of.

all 6 of the emails has "Newsletter subscription success" as the subject and also the sole text of the body of the email.

3 of the emails were from: Ray@ vapetme .net
the other 3 were from: admin@ vapetime .net

ive never been to any vape Time website before today. i searched and found 1 in the Phillipines and 1 in the UK. i have no idea if either website is the one sending emails- could be another one altogether. or even a completely bogus company.

i'd like to reply back with "UNSUBSCRIBE", but i dont want that to get me flooded with even more unwanted emails. hopefully this thing goes away without any action on my part.. but just wanted to get your opinions on this. has anything like this happened to you?

If you were so inclined, you could call them and ask how they got your email and why you were sub'd to their list:

This is the admin contact info from a whois domain name lookup.

EDIT: upon googling that phone number, it returns quite a few scam related results - fundraisers, fitness club, free microsoft points, etc. However, I don't know if that is the registrar's phone number or the number for the vapetime admin. Apparently this a proxied registration and listed as private. Smells bad to me.

i blocked the two email addresses. hopefully this is the end of it. i dont normally investigate spam, but this was vape related and this is the first spam ive gotten pulling a vape-related angle.

i was concerned because i buy almost all of my vape gear online, and rarely buy anything non-vape related online so I wanted to be diligent that my card hasnt been compromised somehow.

thank for the help, everyone :)

Best advice on any email today is to send everything to your spam box and delete it. You can always check yhe companies you do business with separately. I don't know where most of my spam comes from because I never open it, what I do know is that they can't spell.

but how will you ever claim the 7 million your long lost but dead Nigerian Uncle left you.

There are two buttons in your email; Junk and Block. Try using them from now on.

thanks. i do use both quite regularly. i was more-so creating this post for any additional knowledge on Vape Time or whoever might have been sending those emails and any potential harm they may create. but i do appreciate your opinion.

I had an email come in similar the other day, same address as well. I blocked and deleted it! I dont give out my email. I dont get how it came thru!

im thinking it was some vapor site that we both used that might have been vulnerable to having their email addresses stolen. seems unlikely that a vapor site themselves would be spamming. i dont know much about spam but id guess its not a vapor site thats behind it.

they already have my banking info. i was very proactive on that one. i've even noticed increasing amounts of withdrawals over the last few months. i should have the money soon.

now if only i could figure out who in my family was nigerian, i might have a chance to get back in touch with that side of the family. i miss them sorely.
