I actually quit smoking in July 2012, but I chose August 10 as my official quit date. It was the birthday of a dear friend who died far too young from lung cancer.

Thank you to everyone on ECF for answering my questions, giving me support and sharing with me an awful lot of laughs. I wish I could give a shout out to extra special people, but there are far too many. You know who you are anyway.

After smoking for 40 years, 1.5 PAD for the last 10 or so, I never imagined I could have gone this long without a cigarette. While I have a fondness (and indebtedness) to all of my devices: Bobo; Reos; Phidias; bOd Mecha; Gus Kiss QE; Poldiac; Calabash mod; a generic little box mod named Banjo and even my eGos, there is one device I know I couldn't have gotten here without. Most of you know what comes next...

Go ahead and call me a fangirl. I am a fangirl - a successful fangirl. I'm not saying my device is better than yours, not by a long shot. Hopefully, you will all find a vape that floats your boat. A ProVari floats mine.

Congrats Ocelot! I passed my one year a couple months ago. My dad is at 5 months smoke free from 2 packs a day for 40 years.
You've achieved a great accomplishment and I wish you the best for many more years of being smoke free

Smoked for 45 year coming up on 2 yrs in a couple of months myself. My youngest son propped down in front of my wife and I a pair of Mini Protank 2's, he had been trying for a while to educate us on the benifits of vaping, each time I tried his juice I told him not for me. But on this particular day I liked the juice, sorry we like it and I haven't smoked since. What a gift I got that day...

Ocy! Congratulations!!! I would have been two years ahead of you if I hadn’t been mislead about nic strengths and/or found ECF earlier. 43 year smoker here and up to 2+ packs a day by the time I successfully quit, damned happy to kick that crap.

I was profoundly moved the first time (and every time) I read about you quit date. Flamingos can’t really bow and tip their hats at the same time but consider it done, however awkwardly. Please give the horsey a carrot and pat for me, don’t forget to do Halloween videos about the mods and vape on.

Oh yeah, ProVari rocks! I blame Baditude for making me buy one and thus avoiding $1,000s spent on shinny that didn't work for me. Ain't life (and health) grand?

Congratulations on three biggies, Ocelot! Just did my second on the 5th after leaving a 53 yr. habit behind. Joining ECF and finding you and other helpful people was the next best thing I did. I owe you my wonderful signature banner that I'll never ever change and I whole heartedly agree about the ProVari. ANY special occasion that comes up, that's what I want. Ha! Still have a couple of colors to get.

It still surprises me how long time smokers, like myself, were able to give up cigs with these devices.
