Vaping 2 years now... need to be re-educated due to new vaporizer - Sigelei 150w

Hi,

I really need some help here :) I've been vaping for 2 years. I rebuild my kangertech coils and mix up some juice. I've been using a Lavatube since I stated and after 3 of them failing, I went out and purchased two (one for a backup) Sigelei 150w TC's.

With the Lavatube, I was using 2.2 ohm Kangertech T3's. I was running my LT at 5-6.5 watts which was ideal for me.

So now I get the Sigelei's and the lowest setting is 10 watts... which with the 2.2 ohm T3's, is way too hot. I also rebuild the T3's with pre-wraps I buy at fasttech. I had a box of KT dual coils set at 1 ohm which were too low to be run in the LT that I put in the S and it seems close to what I used to run.

I'm surprised that the Sigelei doesn't go down below 10 watt, which with what I'm used to is way too hot.

So what am I supposed to be using now in the Sigelei? I'd like to use the T3's as they easy to rebuild, but again, too hot at 10 watt. I did a little research and I could care less about using the TC on the unit, I just want to be able to vape as I have been if possible. I see the prices on the dual coil copper/nickle coils and that's just way too expensive. With the juice I use, the cotton gets caked after 3 days and it's unusable... so I usually swap out after 3 days.

So if someone could give me a basic rundown on my options now, preferably low cost, rebuildables, I would appreciate it.

Also, is it the lower the ohm of the coil, the hotter it runs? Still confused about the ohm rating... after 2 years of using the same products, I'm at a loss here.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Mog

Sorry you didn't discuss needing an upgrade before purchasing.

There are several Good small Mods that would do the Jog better for you. Purchasing a Very high power mod with expectations of very low power use was a unplanned mistake.

You can/will get good use out of the Sigelei mods as you advance, should you keep them.

IPV-D3 is 80 watts max and has full step down to 7 watts.
iPV D3 80W Box Mod - Pioneer4you

Cloupor Mini Plus 50 watt also has true step down to 1 watt

Both are TC

Also consider Joyetech VTC-Mini

I really like the build of the Sigelei 150. I was looking for a box mod and didn't care for any of the box mods I found. This one fits well in my hand, it's not "boxy", etc...

Do I have any options for using this mod with the Aerotanks? Why do the 2.2 ohm coils burn a lot hotter than the 1 ohm?

Right now, with the 1 ohm dual coil KT I'm using the flavor is good. I have two other Aerotanks with 2.2 ohm coils and they are way too hot, getting a burnt taste.

I made the mistake by not checking the minimum watt's on the Sigalei's; but to be honest, didn't think that would even be an issue. My Lavatube goes from .5 watt's to... figured they all started at .5 and just went up :(

Money's tight, so would like to use my new mod's if possible. Just have to find out what I need to do, if I can, with the coils to make them vape cooler. I checked FastTech and the lowest prewrapped coils they have are 1.5 ohm.

Okay, did a little more reading and guessing why the dual coil is working better is due to having more resistance?

So let's say I would like to keep the mods and look at new atty's. What would be a couple to look at?

And thanks crxess for the iPV link, I may pick that up and be done with it for now... see the market has changed quite a bit since I started.

You are quite welcome.
I would suggest something like the Kanger Subtank mini. It is a very versatile tank with available coils for lighter vapers to Subohm, TC and even an RBA deck for doing your own custom coils.
Cost is reasonable and replacement parts are available.

I use an ,IPV-D2, in TC mode with a Titanium single coil tank and performance ha been excellent. Have another D2 coming for dedicated Stumpy RDA.
