Vaping & Acid Reflux

watch out for these foods but i have found the best remedy is to drink milk while vaping. milk is a base and nuetralizes the acid... works great and INSTANTLY for me

Milk is actually on the acidic side. (6.7pH). But yeah compared to 1 or 2pH for stomach acid it would be comparably base. It probably has more to do with the fat coating your stomach lining a bit giving your stomach something to breakdown. But hey, I'm not doctor and I DON'T play one on TV.

But hey if it works for you, go for it.

My experience is that if I have not eaten, I will get a flair up within a vape or two. There is no way Nicotine has gotten to my stomach at that point so it has to be something else.

There is a trigger to the stomach when the mouth tastes food to get it ready for digestion, it starts to do it's dance and secrete acid. Problem is, the food never shows and the acid starts to build.

Just my take on it and maybe not everyones issue.

Well from what I've read and what my doctor told me, certain drugs (most notably ones ending in the suffix -ine) cause the esophageal sphincter to spasm. So my guess was that if I cut back on the nicotine in the juice then I'd have no problem. It worked but as someone else stated above, my cravings are much worse and I'm basically sucking on my ecig all day long now at 12mg. 24mg = too much, 12mg = not enough, for me anyway.

This is exactly what is happening to me. I am hoping I can find the exact happy medium and eleminate both problems. I think that nicotine is not the whole problem, or it would be effecting everyone the same. The problem is that in my body the nicotine acts as a catalyst to enhance the effects. Over the years smoking has caused the same issues.

a lot of the "negative" side effects of vaping are actually pre-existing conditions that you now notice because your body is healing or is no longer actively protecting itself from the toxins in analogs...your soft tissue membranes produce excess amounts of mucous in order to protect itself from the toxins. With the drop in toxins with the conversion over to vaping, you are going to feel the acids and other problems that were there the whole time. Try using an anti acid program that allows your esophagus and throat to heal such as Prilosec...just my opinion, I am no doctor by any means!
Makes perfect sense!!!! and little heart burn i'd prefer over hacking up flem all mourning long with a analog in my mouth!!!!!!!
