Suction = Dry socket

not a good idea to use a straw, smoke, vape, or anything else with suction because it could cause a dry socket and the hole from the tooth will not heal and get infected. :|

100% BINGO!

My wife is a dental hygienist and after my wisdom teeth came out, she was all over me about dry socket and my analogs.

Of course I listened to her.....not! I did very very very gentle sort of mouth open drags. Survived without dry socket or taking anyone's head off.

I would also think the PG might be a bit irritating on the mouth and gums so take it slow if you really must.

wisdom teeth pulled - nasty dry socket.... OUCH
molar pulled (older and wiser)
put some cotton over the empty gum area thinking is was the smoke not the suction...(actually asked for a bit of the plastic 'dam' stuff' and put that over the area also when puffing)
and took very easy open mouth puffs on ciggie
no dry socket

don't know what choice will work best for you - and no clue about vaping rather than smokin' - just sharing my experience.

And sending you energy for gentle, easy, fast healing!

When I got my wisdom teeth pulled I was still smoking cigarettes. The dentist said something like "I always tell smokers not to smoke afterwards, and I know they all cheat, so at least do this before you smoke." He then told me that before I lit up, I should put gobs of vaseline on pieces of gauze and place them in the holes in my gums. I was only supposed to take soft little puffs. When I was done, I had to remove the gauze very very gently. Dry socket is actually caused by the sucking motion (or overly vigorous swishing and spitting) because it can dislodge the clot that forms in the hole to start healing the wound, so I would guess that risk exists even if you vape rather than smoke.

Good luck tomorrow, I hope everthing goes well for you :)

Thanks Niniane....I have actually been practicing my inhale method with my 510(to avoid the sucking),and found if I hold the switch down a second while holding it up to my mouth and then breathe in I really get a good throat hit!!(I am ashamed that I am even worried about vaping at this particular moment..LOL):)The Wiz!

Good Luck tomorrow Wiz! I was thinking (and I know this is a gross thought) that I'd have to resort to nasal puffing if someone told me I couldn't suck on the PV :). I do remember them telling me not to smoke when I had a Wisdom tooth removed many years ago and I did anyway, was just real gentle about sucking and tried to putting the cig on that side of the mouth. At least with the manual switch PV you don't have to suck super hard.

Thanks Moonflame.....Looks like this 510 might save my life...I think my 901 and 801 might have been a problem....hits quite well without having to suck!:)The Wiz!

Jeez...too many folks have personal experience on this one. Myself included. No one warned me...guess cause I didn't smell like a nasty analog when I went in. I vaped within 10 minutes of leaving the oral surgeon's office, while still half unconscious. I came out okay, but I was sewed up tight...so no holes. That knock-out juice was da bomb!

"Okay...you're going to feel a little woozy..." WAM, next thing I know they're helping me out of the chair. Yeah...now that's what I'm talking about!

dawghouse...I have been trying to remember what it was like 25 years ago when I had my lower wisdoms pulled....and you are right on....That juice beats my TW any day of the week!! I think they might have had me count back from 300 or something...and then like you said "Wham"...The part I do remember was my mother driving me home..and me expressing my undying love for her for the happiness I was feeling!!:)The Wiz!
