hello

I was a 25 a day smoker for 33 years until quitting and going onto vaping recently.
however, having smoked for 33 years with no breathing issues, I not find that vaping invokes a periodic asthma episode.
I mean periodic as using the blue reliever inhaler corrects the airway issues and seems to confer some "immunity" to another episode for several hours.
I currently have to use the inhaler 2 to 3 times a day taking 2 puffs each time.
I have no idea if this reaction is down to pg or vg or flavourings as it seems to make no difference what make, mix or flavour liquid I use.
has anyone else had issues with asthma or difficulting breathing since switching from cigarettes to e cigs?

Sorry to hear that

I'm the opposite as my asthma was bad when I smoked, now I vape I barely use inhalers anyone
Same here. I have had bronchitis in the winter for 50 years.

I have not used my Flovent once in tge last two years, and last winter i never had any bronchitis at all, and never had to get an anti biotic to deal the yearky bacteeial infection in my lungs.

I am of the opinion that the PG in ejuice helps your lungs stay healthy.

Same here. Not a single cold or the flu since I switched to vaping. seems like I did get the sniffles a couple of years ago though. Lasted one day.

If you are vaping high VG e-liguid it could possibly be causing your breathing problems. I find if I go to heavy on the VG my lungs feel heavy. I try to stick to 50pg/50vg or 60/40. Check your inhaler. You may find that one of the ingredients in it is PG.

I've dealt with many customers with breathing troubles trying to quit smoking, the 2 biggest are asthma and COPD. I as well after 23years of smoking suffered bronchitis twice a year, fall heading into winter and spring heading into summer. Since I started vaping I have had bronchitis once, and that due to I was already sick at the time and couldn't vape as much as I normally do. Majority of my customers with asthma and such, vape regularly 70PG/30VG up to custom made 90PG/10VG with one customer that DIYs her own liquid. Majority of that group mainly vape on light flavored liquids or unflavored as flavorings of any sort are another irritant in the vapor aerosol. Each customer was trial and error, starting off unflavored at their preferred pg/vg, generally a 50/50, then up the VG scale, still problems go in reverse upping the PG ratio, once symptoms ceased or decreased adding flavorings was up to them. Being on an asthma inhaler as you are, I'd still discuss it with your family physician, but most emergency inhalers, the transport is PG, so there is one irritant you can probably check off your list if your inhaler does not cause irritation in its own right. You might also be wise to ask your family doctor for an allergy and internal medicine specialist to help get your asthma on lock down if you are continuing with vaping.

My chest and lungs get VERY heavy with higher VG. After trial and error I have found that 50/50 pg/vg is the highest I can go. The pg irritates my throat at 60% or above, and it is easier to find 50/50 than it is to find 60/40 eliquid.

Experiment with ratios that you know. Or go to unflavored pg, and unflavored VG and see what effects you. After 3 years of vaping (which followed 35 years of smoking) this is what works for me.
