Soooo....

I started vaping last Monday and everything was great until Friday rolled around.

I grabbed my vape gear and a beer - started doing my thing.

After I finished my beer I noticed no buzz - no big deal, #2 down the hatch... same thing

#3...

#4...

At this point I called it quits on the beer since it was doing me no good. Normally I feel the building effects of each beer and reach my 'perfect buzz' peak around #4 and use 5-6 to maintain it for several hours.

While I was smoking I would drink my first beer or two and then smoke a bowl (tobacco pipe) and that would 'kick things into gear' but I've tried higher nic content to get the same effect with no results.

This has been two weekends this has happened so far... has anyone else experienced this?

I'm thinking that since my body isn't working so hard to get rid of the shyte from smoking that it has a higher capacity for filtering booze from blood. If that is the case I'm probably hosed...

I really hope it's a short term issue because I like my beer!

Thanks!

Well, when I first started vaping I went to a party a few days later, brought my vape gear, had a few drinks and still got that alcohol buzz..so you may actually want to look at reducing nic level, seeing as I was using 6mg at the time (nowhere near enough for me then but it was all I had). These days I haven't really had much to drink so I can't tell you the effects of higher nic levels vs alcohol, but you have to remember, one is a stimulant, one is a depressant, and as far as I know both work on the central nervous system (don't quote me there, but that's what I'm remembering), so it's possible high levels of nicotine are diminishing the effects of the alcohol.

Sounds like the nic is acting as a stimulant.
The vaping may keep you more alert or something. So perhaps if you WANT that beer buzz, you could try LESS nicotine rather than more.
But DON'T DRIVE - there's still alcohol in your system...

Well der! haha

I'm only Vaping 12mg though and I smoke like a chimney when I'm puffing on my pipe! One of my big pipe bowls is like 4-5 cigs worth of tobacco! Though it doesn't have nearly as much of the crap that they put in cigs.

Same was here with 18mg nic, lowered it to 6mg and now...
I am vaping and drinking almost every day, and not beer, hard liq only.
So far so good for over a year, main rule is: dont drink more then 750ml and vaping over 6mg or next day is trashed...

What kind of beer are you drinking? While I agree that lowering your nic level might be the easiest solution, a higher alcohol content might also work (benefit = less trips to the loo and a nice buzz). Beer is a religion here in Portland, so the Imperial IPA recommendation is a good place to start, speaking from a convert's perspective...

While I am capable of consuming that much without vomiting or passing out I find that I become a complete dullard, smoking or not.

If it helps, my equivalent level of liquor to beer is ~6beers = 375ml whiskey for the same buzz level.

The problem is still low-nic to high-nic I'm still sober(ish).

I'm thinking that since my body isn't working so hard to get rid of the shart from smoking that it has a higher capacity for filtering booze from blood. If that is the case I'm probably hosed...

Thanks again all! Hoping for a solution soon!

Thanks for the replies so far!

The thing is... I'm not looking to drink more to get the same buzz (i like my liver almost as much as my lungs (though we have had our disagreements in the past!)) So I would like to be able to achieve the same buzz level without increasing alcohol intake too much!
Yeah, that's why we'd recommend an Imperial (alcohol level is optional). It's a heavier taste so it's more satisfying than a pale ale with lots of alcohol.

Heck, try a Guiness; everybody loves Guiness!

That's my personal vice of choice when it comes to beer, pairs nicely with a wide variety of liquids. Also may be worth trying hard cider and a fruity vape to match, if you enjoy fruity flavors of course. I switched from Irish Cream vape and Guinness, to a mixed hard cider and apple flavor vape at the last party I went to and they matched up very nicely.

I do love Guinness with food! I like Ice beer though because it doesn't seem to have the sedative effects that a dark lager does while maintaining the alcohol content. (Guinness puts me to sleep!)

It's starting to look like I'm just not a cheap date anymore... my normal 12pk is $8 and last(s/ed) me the weekend.

Sounds like your watering hole might be getting watered down or 3% beer? LOL

I love Guinness......my favorite race horse (female) drinks that beer too

UPDATE+++

I can get a buzz again!

to those interested...
[moderated - no drug talk] I was miserable after my wisdom tooth(X4) extraction and my vasectomy - I didn't even get the numbing effects.

Sooooo... to sum up the thread - [moderated - no drug talk] you may not be able to get an alcohol buzz for 2-3 weeks.

It seems my experience may be unique but I hope someone else benefits too somewhere down the line!

Have fun and don't give up on vaping if your buzz is missing for a while!
