Vaping and Driving

I've had that happen to me lots of times. On at least three occasions drivers have asked about my mod hook-up. Those are the informed people. On the other side, daily I get people looking on either inquisitively or with disbelief. I vape everywhere including driving around town. Here in Denver herb is legal so I just assume most people think I'm blazing. I've rolled up on cops while vaping, held up my mod and they seemed indifferent. On one occasion I had a cop follow me to a 7eleven. I jumped out blew a huge cloud and walked into the store. I take my MVP 2 into every place I happen to go. Great conversation piece.

I honestly always vape when I drive now and honestly half the time I never think twice about what people think. But sometimes I do look around to see what people are doing and sometimes have had some people look at me funny. But also I am driving mostly around my college so as a result most people are doing to same thing too or smile and know exactly what I am doing. I feel in a few years people will always know what that is and not be so surprised.

When I am driving to work (40 miles each way) I try to keep a pretty low profile with my vaping. Probably has something to do with the large patches on shoulders with the seal of VA and the uniform I am wearing. Honestly I am pretty sure to the uninformed it could look highly odd that an apparent LEO is smoking with some sort of odd glass device.
Attracting unwanted attention is something I try not to do.

I've noticed people looking at me before when I'm stopped at a light. I usually just smile & keep on vaping. I did have a lady wave me down after I passed her in a parking lot one day. She asked if vaping was working. At that point I told her that it was & had been for over 6 months. I wrote down the forums info & gave it to her.

Um, yeah I get people looking at me strange (or with a bit a visible disdain) but not because of my vaping but because I'm usually 20' wide taking up more than 2 lanes of roadway like this -

Or like this where there's 2 of us along with 4 pilot cars -

And often I will have 2 or 3 of these with me as well which gets some really strange looks (and even frantic phone calls to my office telling them that one of their trucks is running from the police) -

But in all seriousness, I have had some strange looks from people while taking a big pull on something like my iTaste 134 with a Fogger. And since I spend 10+ hours a day behind the wheel there is plenty of opportunity for people to see me enjoying being analog free.

I did have an incident here recently at a high security facility where the officer searching my truck was completely unfamiliar with vaping and the associated vape gear. He was ready to have me locked up for trying to take those strange looking things into a MARSEC 3 area but I t turned out his supervisor was new to vaping, was on his starter Ego with an iTaste 16. He explained all the paraphernalia in my truck to the other officer and as a parting gift I gave him my Mag mod with an iClear 30 tank and a big bottle of 18mg Red Bull juice. Just wait till I get my Cool Fire 2 and have to go through security at SeaTac or LAX, should be some interesting times ahead.

I'm also in WA and have had this thought. I've chatted with my local police and they know what a Provari is now. But whenever I leave town, I get a little worried about people thinking it's something it's not. Helps to have a bottle of e-liquid with a label on it.

Thank you - very good point!

I take my MVP 2.0 everywhere, especially in the car. If I'm blowing fog clouds I open the moon roof so I can see traffic.

I really don't care what other drivers think, and I don't look for a reaction. I'm too busy paying attention to the road. I've gotten pretty good with shifting with the mod in my hand though.

I've actually had a Police car pull me over because he thought my mech mod was a zipgun. I explained to them what it was and they wouldn't believe me so i took a loooong drag and blew out a monster cloud :vapor: . The police officer was shocked to say the least, i thought that was it, but it wasn't. He then thought i was using it to smoke some sort of illicit substance and was in the process of telling me to get out of my car and go down to the police station to have the matter sorted out.

Now this is when it gets embarrassing for him; i work for a private security firm here in Port Moresby, PNG (not to mention that i have my shotgun in a rack between the seats and an armor carrier on with all sorts of equipment on it). Not to mention i have my reserve police credentials. So then i pulled out my IDs and my badge, he then thought i was impersonating a police officer and started to get angry. So i asked him if i could prove it to him. I used hit radio to call up the station that i do volunteer work for and had him speak to the Commander in charge.

Lets just say that now when they see me driving around using my vape, they honk their horn and give me a wave. lol

i found out that he was new to the police force and was only doing his job so i give him credit for pulling me over with some weird device in my hand.

Its hard living in a 3rd world country where i can count the number of vapers i know with both hands.

Its one of the most memorable stops ive had ever :D

If someone verbally scrutinized me for anything that I'm doing in public I would probably have a bad reaction. I have a low tolerance for people blasting their unwarranted opinions at me. If I'm not doing anything illegal and someone criticizes me, some things I probably shouldn't say tend to come out. This goes for anything from cigars to snacky cakes.

I have never ever had this happen before. People in Texas don't care what you do. Which suits me because the last thing I want is to have to interact with people ;) I've had people walk up to me and try to talk about it while I'm standing around. Even then I usually smile along and change the subject. I'm not looking for attention.
