Hello! I put down my analogs 2 days ago and I'm so happy about it. What I was wondering if anyone has lost weight since they started vaping.
I tried quitting a couple of times and packed on pounds in no time. Since I started vaping I havent given food much thought, which I'm really happy about. I almost have the same feeling I did when I started smoking years ago...analogs used to be an appetite supressant all those years ago.
I believe that since I have my Rough Stack in my hand almost constantly.
Has any one experienced this?
Thanks again for all the support!!!

I also gained weight but now that I can breathe again I've gotten back into "enjoyable" exercising= sports and have now not only lost weight but have actually toned up and gained muscle mass. The one reason I had given up sports was because my lungs, when smoking, had no endurance. Part of the reason I got back into sports was because of health concerns but mainly because it was something I had missed dearly. The BEST kind of exercise is the one that you can enjoy...shouldn't be a routine, hardship or task. Gotta do things that are enjoyable rather than looking at it as a project. Overall I feel great not only physically but also psychologically and mentally and I know it's not only the ouside of my body that has changed but, more importantly, the insides from head to toe.
Here's a Poll:

Good Luck.

Betsy, it's the perfect time for you to begin an exercise routine. One life change often leads to another. You've taken a good first step. I'm glad that the apetite is being suppressed but you will want to make sure you are eating nutritious meals. Vaping itself can dehydrate people so try and get a lot of water, tea, fruit juice, whatever. I'd avoid soda if you can.

I was distance runner even when I smoked. I continue to this day and have also working in a decent amount of cycling and swimming. I now participate in triathalons (no not the full ones lol), but it love it.

Find an activity that you like. Swimming, tennis, basketball, running, or even just walking can all benefit you greatly in terms of cardiovascular health.

Good luck and congratulations.

Hell Betsy, I guess I'm an exception to the weight gain rule... I've managed to lose 15 pounds in the last two and a half weeks. When getting off the smokes, I'd turn to food to fill that void. With vaping though, I don't have that problem.

A lot of the weight loss has to do with the work I do. I usually walk between 4.5-6.5 miles a day while at the shop, while constantly lifting 20-50 lb cases of prodcut. But the vaping has kept me from over eating like I used to when quitting

The weight loss is a good thing, although I wasn't drastically over weight to begin with. The most important thing is that I feel a whole heck of a lot better now that I'm a month off the analogs! I can only imagine it'll get better from here on out. My smell and taste are slowly returning to me, which is a fantastic thing in and of itself :)

Good luck, and congrats for staying of the cigarettes!

The first month I put on about 5 pounds, but since then have dropped about 10 putting me at a 5 pound loss to date.

I credit this to two things. Taste buds coming back made me snack more resulting in a gain. Then increased lung capacity increased my cycling intensity combined with discovering some desert flavors to take care of my sweet tooth has caused the drop. I think of vaping things like Andes Mint or Key Lime Pie as aroma therapy.

I have held the theory that once you lungs clear up a bit you can't help but have a better metabolism, just processing more oxygen will be a metabolic boost in and of itself. Of course this leads to more energy, which leads to more activity and so on...

Of course with a bit more disposeable cash from not buying cigs, I do eat out a lot more often...so maybe I just counter the effect by eating more...lol

Of course, vaping also makes me feel like have sweets all day, so I am eating a ton less candy...go figure! Hahaha

I've lost 9 lbs so far- vaping really curbs my need to snack, esp the really stupid kind of mindless boredom eating or snacking while watching tv at night- you cannot feed your face and drip at the same time.

I'm also a type 1 diabetic, and my blood sugars have never been so easy to manage- in fact, I've been able to cut way back on how much insulin I take. My doctor is so happy.

I have had this wonder myself. I have many times attempted to get on an exercise program but I was so out of breath so quickly that I gave up and felt that if I am going to continue to smoke I am just going backwards anyway. I would use that as an excuse and told myself that the day I quit smoking I will start exercising again. I am already overweight and I need to handle that part of my life as well.

The other day I laughingly created a "vape meal" of potential flavors like chips and chocolate and cake. I decided I would just vape my food! lol

So far I haven't gained any more weight and food seems less important to me now for some reason.

Great question op! I've found that vaping while watching videos or surfing the web can satisfy my urge to snack and has contributed to reducing calorie intake a lot like smoking.

Eating well and keeping a majority of your calories from nutritious foods, exercising, and eating junk food only occasionally help the most in reducing weight but I feel vaping can help. Especially if you're a drinker, stick to vaping and avoid those drunken junk food binges!

Diet and excercise are crucial to not only actual well being but perception of well being. Although senses are heightened from breaking free of the stigma of analogs lets not forget that proper nutrition and activity are still vital to ensure well being. I have found (this morning :)) my lung capacity has already increased as i ran an extra mile and even took the hilly route home. Surely this could be a simple psychosematic effect but im not complaining.

If you experience any rapid fluctuations in weight, consult your doctor. If that doctor tells you to go back to smoking analogs, find another doctor. :)

I would have to strongly agree with this. The vaping world is blessed with the vast assortment of flavor opportunities for us to partake in. I would even suspect that there are many vapers that could/do even look at vaping to assist with curbing certain cravings. Heck, you get an urge for cake..guess what, there is a juice that tastes like it. You want something chocolatey, grab a bottle of your favorite chocolate liquid and vape it! I personally have tried this approach (mind you I don't really do the junk food thing anyway) and been like "Oh, that was tasty!" no need for the (insert desert here.) Could start up a vaping diet trend, lol.
