Anyone think this is a bad idea? I have felt like total crap with body aches, headache, cough stuffy nose. The usual flu related symptoms.

I used to smoke cigarettes when I had a cold/flu but this is my first bout with the flu while vaping.

My main concern is that vaping would give me pneumonia.

Now I have really cut down on my vaping anyway due to flavor issues when sick and some flavors hurting my lungs (mostly tobacco flavors).

So anyone else vape like Cheech n Chong with the flu without croaking?

Haven't had the flu per se since vaping, but I have been sick a few times and vaped as I needed to. I don't vape much and didn't smoke much when I am sick. Just doesn't taste good to me. Vaping won't cause the flu to be any worse if that is what you are worried about. Make sure to drink lots of fluids! Probably wouldn't hurt to see the doc and get the influenza test. If it is influenza, a prescription for tamiflu or relenza will help you get over it quicker. Get to feeling better!

Figure it has to be better then smoking cigs anyway. As for the tamiflu side effects like uncontrollable ........ and vomiting and heart attacks which I seen on the commercial seem to outweigh feeling better a day earlier lol.

Made some homemade chicken soup so with that and lots of fluids should be ok.

Vaping isn't making the cough worse so guess its not that harmful.

I just had the flu and vaped. it actually was fine

Well Tuesday night which is my Friday I drank quite a few beers and vaped exclusively without smoking for the first time ever. Had a half hangover and a cough yesterday and I thought it was from vaping too much. Later in the day the stuffy nose and fever started so I figure the flu was just a coincidence and just happened to hit me after a night of partying.

LOL I am the same way......I would rather feel crappy for an extra few days than have some of the side effects they describe. :) Somehow, explosive ........ doesn't sound too appealing when you can barely stumble to the bathroom anyways cause your joints are so achy. That just has code brown disaster waiting to happen written allllll over it. ;)

I haven't had the flu yet, but every time I'm sick I'll always vape in some capacity. I've actually had a respiratory infection or something for the past week or so and still vape like normal. Other times I've had symptoms that make it less enjoyable or taste like crap so I'll cut back, but I'll never go a day without it. You could even possibly argue that it'll help you get better since PG has disinfectant properties.

One thing that comes to mind. With smoking analogs while sick, you are disposing of the 'contaminated' butts when finished. Not so with your vaping equipment! You may want to be carefull and clean all your gear after use, especially if you happen to share it with anyone, to at least control the spread of whatever bug you have.

Hey, fine with me.. less people going "hey, can I take a drag?"

I can't tell you how many of my friends walk off with my PVs.. not while I'm sick though! :D

What happened is the Alcohol weakens your immune system and the flu was already in your system waiting for a chance to go full force. Same thing happened to me last month. I found unfortunately I could not vape the French pipe flavor I was enjoying so much. So I switched over to my Citrus Menthol and it actually helped my throat more than my Fisherman's Friend cough drops. They make a cough drop flavor E liquid just for the flu. I think tasty vapor makes it.search cough drop e liquid here on DVD and you will find it. I hope you feel better.

I also just got over the flu and vaping was a horrible experience during it! I didn't have a sore throat (thank goodness, since I need my voice for work), so I can't totally comment on if it makes your throat worse. It's just that there was NO flavor and it was completely unenjoyable. When I was getting urges, I'd take a few puffs and put it back down, thinking 'why bother?'. It was a good time to go through the juices I wasn't in love with, and I now understand why people recommend having some really strong flavors on hand for when you are sick. Stay extra hydrated, the sickness is dehydrating you and vaping is only compounding the effect. I knocked my bug pretty quick this time. I grabbed the all the usual over-the-counter meds (dayquil, nyquil, mucinex, advil) and took them like a fiend, but I also used zinc lozenges and a "neti pot" for the first time, and they were freaking AWESOME! The neti pot totally sounds and looks gross, but it cleared my sinuses completely away! I was amazed at how well it worked and actually how refreshing it felt... I thought it would burn, but it was the total opposite. The zinc lozenges were recommended to me so I picked those up (I'll try ANYTHING and EVERYTHING when I'm sick, lol), and I read later that zinc is clinically proven to kick ... for sick people (cuts time by about half). Everyone's getting sick now and I've been raving about the neti pot and zinc to all of them. I don't mean to advise you on how to handle your cold, but those were my new discoveries and LOVED them, so I'm on that "I gotta tell everyone" kick, lol.

The last time I got a flu, I drank lots of orange juice and vaped as usual. The next day my flu was gone. The orange juice must've helped.

Ewl, and this too! I swear by orange juice when I'm sick! I learned this one while wrestling throughout my youth... I don't think sickness spreads any faster than when in a heated (with ice packs on the thermostat to make sure it was BLASTING), sweaty, uncirculated room with a bunch of guys expelling liquid and touching and rolling all over a mat. Our coaches always made us drink LOTS of orange juice, and we never had outbreaks of sickness. It makes sense that a lot of people always rave about Emergen-C (or however they spell it).

I can't imagine it being worse than smoking.

I recently got over a bout of the flu. While I had it it hurt to vape. Burned my throat and then some. However, when I asked my roommate for an analog I was able to smoke it just fine. Not sure what the deal was or why it hurt so much to vape while I had the flu.
Maybe too much nic and/or something with the juice aggravating the throat/flu.

I have found "Fisherman's Friend" to work well with vaping to reduce throat irritations.
