I am 21, i am obese over 350lbs! i was eating atleast 3 to 4 times a day before.. I NEVER ever smoked and i despised the smell of it.. BUT i got into vaping for about a month now.. I am feeling better about myself, i now eat mostly twice a day.. but i am now a CHAIN VAPER, i cant stop vaping.. all these flavors.. (vaping mostly 0mg, 3mg, 6mg) ,

is this good? I sometimes get nicotine rush and feel light headed, but seems like i am getting used to it and dont feel that way anymore after weeks of vaping..

Anyone else using this as a way to reduce food intake / weight?

I have heard of folk saying it helped them lose a few pounds. Unfortunately I'm not one of them and I would looove to lose a few LOL. Don't really know why no-one answered this so far. You're an adult and at this point I would suggest that your weight is of more concern to your overall health than vaping at 0 mg nic. If you don't need nicotine, then I wouldn't advise using it at all. As a non-smoker, it isn't something you really need to become addicted to. Chain vaping is OK at low to no nic but drink plenty of water, and good luck with the weight loss. Excellent!

Nicotine is a narcotic stimulant, and, like most stimulants, it is an appetite suppressant. And while I haven't tested it, I think that vaping can be used to satisfy sweet tooth cravings for some people. Just be mindful that all stimulants carry a risk of heart disease. If you can vape 0 nic juice and keep the diet up, do that! But if you need the nicotine to suppress your appetite, do that! A bit of nicotine carries far less health risks than obesity.

Hi

I guess the question would be "Have you lost any weight?" I could see vaping might work as a substitute for someone who has a real serious oral craving problem, but there is no research to support the idea.

I would avoid the nicotine if you have never smoked. 3 and 6 mg is very low in the nicotine scheme, but if you had never been exposed to it previously it's hard to say what would be "too much". As a non-smoker coming to vaping it's not something you are missing to begin with.

Well, considering how much "not good" junk is in a lot of these dietary aids out there I certainly can't recommend blowing tons on that stuff either. And some of those diet supplements, plans and drugs are known to be, well, just bad. (Can you say Phen Phen?)

Can't see any harm in trying this. Some people do report here that they get into sweet liquids to stay away from high calorie desserts and junk sweets. Not sure if they lost any weight.

Keep us posted and best of luck with it. The extra weight is a serious health problem. In the greater scheme of what you are dealing with... The vaping? Not so much.

P.S. When I was a real tubbo in my early teens what changed everything was: I just stopped myself in my own tracks and thought about when I was eating. It came down to: Was I eating because I was actually hungry? Or was I eating because I was bored. Or angry. Or feeling crappy about myself. Or... Once I realized that, every time I approached the kitchen I would just ask myself "Am I really hungry?" Or was it gonna be one of all those other reasons. Once I got that mindset I just walked away a lot more often when I knew darned well I simply wasn't hungry. No Doctor, no diet involved.

Thanks, i guess ill have to change my mindset about FOOD too.. i think of food as a blessing, so why waste them? when lots of people are starving !

Uh no - that would be wrong. lol

Seriously, don't you guys have a real cultural/social issue over there regarding food & diet? Seem to recall a TV show about it and how serious a health problem it had become. There were a lot of factors as I recall.

Please be careful what you say! Nicotine is NOT narcotic, which is defined as:
any of a class of substances that blunt the senses, as opium, morphine, belladonna, and alcohol, that in large quantities produce euphoria, stupor, or coma, that when used constantly can cause habituation or addiction, and that are used in medicine to relieve pain, cause sedation, and induce sleep.

Other than that, I agree with your post! :)

well, I am doing it to quit smoking, not lose weight... however, weight loss is something I was already working on.
I do not allow myself to have sugar (very low carbs in general). I already wasn't eating that stuff, but I do have to say that vaping sweet and dessert flavors has certainly satisfied my cravings and helps with any temptation I might have to stray.

I would seriously suggest using 0 nic if you were never a smoker, though.

Health issues are what drove me to find a way to quit smoking/dipping. Part of those issues include my digestive system. From time to time I have to fast. The e cig has made it much easier on me. In the past I would feel so crappy. It wasn't living day to day; but cigarette to cigarbutt :glare: In the past year I've lost a lot of weight. Although I can't say with certainty that it was the e cig.
Food addiction is a real addiction. The toll it can take on a person's life is devastating, and my heart goes out to anyone fighting that fight. If you were never a smoker maybe try zero nicotine or low. That way you can use the H out of your device, and not get sick. DIY might be something worth looking into as well.

I've recently gotten into vaping for the same reason. I'm curious to see folks results doing this. If you consciously reach for a vape instead of a snack, it can't be WORSE for you. :) And, after a few days, I found myself UNconsciously reaching for a vape when I felt a craving for a snack. That is a GOOD thing.
